A rotary torso comprises: a frame with a base, several supporting columns vertically installed on the base, a U shape railing installed a little bit above the supporting columns, and a U shape handle installed at the top of the supporting columns; a hollow box shape rotating arm, with one rotatable end pivot installed by a shaft bearing at the central bottom of a fixed shaft; a rotating plate, with a rotatable central hub, supported at the rotating shaft at the free end of the rotating arm; and a driving structure installed inside the hollow part of the rotating arm. The driving structure comprises: a driving sprocket installed at a rotating shaft supported by a shaft bearing at the free end of the rotating arm; a fixed sprocket installed at the fixed shaft on the same plane of the driving shaft; and a driving chain circularly suspended between the driving sprocket and the fixed sprocket, when the rotating plate rotates in one direction, the rotating arm rotates in the opposite direction of the rotating plate by the driving structure with the fixed shaft as a center. The frame can be partly detached and folded into layers.
A twister includes a follower slidably attached onto a housing and having a channel and a rack, a rod rotatably attached to the housing, a lever secured to the rod and having a pin attached to a free end and slidably engaged in the channel of the follower, to allow the follower to be forced to slide relative to the housing in a reciprocating action when the pin and the lever are rotated relative to the housing. An axle is rotatably engaged to the housing and includes a pinion engaged with the rack of the follower, to allow the axle to be rotated in a reciprocating action when the follower slides relative to the housing in the reciprocating action. A foot support is secured to the axle and driven by a motor.
A twist exerciser includes a platform rotatably supported on a base, and one or more rotary members rotatably supported in the platform to selectively support feet of users, and to allow the feet of the users to be rotated relative to the platform when the platform is rotated relative to the base. The rotary member may be rotatably supported on a seat of the platform with a pivot pin, and the platform may include a cover having one or more openings to receive the rotary members. One or more belts may apply a resistive force against the platform. A handle may be rotatably supported on the base and coupled to the platform.
An exerciser includes a handle and a support rotatably secured to a base, two foot pedals are rotatably secured to the support with spindles for allowing the users' feet to be rotated relative to the support and for preventing the users from being hurt or twisted while rotating relative to said base with the support. The support includes two blocks pivotally secured between two pivotal and parallel beams for supporting the foot pedals. A device may couple the the handle to the support for allowing the handle to be rotatably coupled to the support.
An exerciser includes a handle and a supporting device rotatably secured to a base, two foot pedals are rotatably secured to the support with spindles for allowing the users' feet to be rotated relative to the supporting device and for preventing the users from being hurt or twisted while rotating relative to said base with the supporting device. A device may couple the the handle to the supporting device for allowing the handle to be rotatably coupled to the supporting device. The handle may include a shank rotatably and foldably secured to a lower segment.
A method and apparatus for exercising internal and external oblique muscles utilizes lateral forces generated by the feet and maintain the upper body in a fixed position to facilitate exercise of the oblique muscles. The apparatus and method vary the inertial forces applied outside the feet to affect the degree of difficulty of the exercise.
