A compound of formula I ##STR1## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently H or methyl (for example N,N-dimethyl-1-[1-(4-chlorophenyl)cyclobutyl]-3-methylbutylamine hydrochloride optionally in the form of its monohydrate) is used for improving the glucose tolerance of humans having Impaired Glucose Tolerance or Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus.
This application is a continuation-in-part application of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 08/190,924 filed on Feb. 3, 1994 which issued as U.S. Pat. No. 5,459,164 on Oct. 17, 1995.
A compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently H or methyl (for example N,N-dimethyl-1-[1-(4-chlorophenyl)cyclobutyl]-3-methylbutyl amine hydrochloride optionally in the form of its monohydrate) is used for reducing Insulin resistance in humans in whom Impaired Glucose Tolerance and Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus have not presented.
