A package for retaining compact discs and computer discs includes a retention panel and a first folded sidewall section extending from the retention panel. The first folded sidewall section includes a first contour edge substantially corresponding to a periphery of the compact disc, and two first cut-out portions for accommodating insertion of two corners of the computer disc. The package also includes a second folded sidewall section extending from the retention panel. The second folded sidewall section includes a second contour edge substantially corresponding to a periphery of the compact disc for accommodating insertion of the compact disc between the first and second contour edges, and a cut-out portion substantially corresponding to a third corner of the computer disc for accommodating insertion of the third corner of the computer disc therein.

The present application is a Continuation-In-Part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 08/576,497 filed Dec. 21, 1995 entitled COMPACT DISC PACKAGE WITH SPINES, now U.S. Pat. No. 5,749,463 and is also a Continuation-In-Part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 08/607,647 filed Feb. 27, 1996 entitled HOLDER FOR COMPACT DISC AND THE LIKE, now U.S. Pat. No. 5,769,216. The entire disclosure of each application is incorporated herein by reference.
CD Holder, Protector and Information System. The system incorporates a plurality of sheets of material that are sized and shaped to form, when folded, a holder for CDs that also protects the CDs and in addition provides a plurality of surfaces on which to place printed information regarding the CD as to content, performers and other particulars. In addition the sheets may be used for artistic renderings, drawings or pictures relating to the performance that is on the CDs.
A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising a cover and a plurality of pages, the cover and pages being made of substantially rectangular paper sheets, the cover being of heavier stock and including at least one pocket having such size and shape as to retain a compact disc therein, and the pages being of lighter stock and carrying printed information concerning the content of the compact disc stored in the at least one pocket, the pages being folded and sewn along a fold line and the cover being glued to an outer surface of an outermost page.
A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet includes a cover and a plurality of pages, the cover and pages being made of substantially rectangular paper sheets. The cover is constructed of heavier stock and includes at least one pocket having such size and shape as to retain a compact disc therein. The pages are constructed of lighter stock and carry printed information concerning the content of the compact disc stored in the at least one pocket. The pages are folded and sewn along a fold line, and the cover is glued to an outer surface of an outermost page. The holder/booklet may include at least one compact disc pocket at least partially formed of heat-sealable materials.
