A fold-out tent camper is provided with a slide-out room providing increased living space. The slide-out room is supported through four-point linkages which extend between the opposite sides of the slide-out room and the corresponding edges of the aperture through which the slide-out room extends and retracts. The four-point linkages both guide the slide-out room as it extends and retracts, and also support the slide-out room when it is fully extended, thus eliminating the need for auxiliary supports.
A slide out room for mobile living quarters, such as a recreational vehicle or manufactured housing is supported by primary and secondary support arms extending from the main living quarters to the outer edge of the floor of the slide out room. The support arms are connected to the slide out room by a pivoting connection and are connected to the main living area by a connection which both pivots and slides vertically. Accordingly, the slide out room is maintained level, and is prevented from tilting or cocking, thereby assuring smooth operation of the slide out room.
An apparatus and method for support automatic teller machines (ATM's). A framework is formed and adapted to house the ATM. A support plate is positioned within the framework and is adapted to be linearly movable between two positions. The first position places the support plate entirely within the framework. The second position allows the support plate to at least partially protrude from the framework. The plate is then simply supported rather than by cantilever. Simply supporting the plate may include coupling the plate to the frame work with a pivotal linkage assembly.
A travel trailer having a rear end wall with an extendable or slide-out room. The vehicle also has a floor and an opening in said rear end wall, such that said slide-out room is fitted in said opening. The vehicle includes an upper mechanism and a lower mechanism for supporting the slide-out room for movement between a retracted position within said vehicle spaced above said floor and an extended position projecting rearwardly of said rear end wall. A ceiling is attached to and perpendicular to the rear end wall wherein the upper mechanism includes a guide rail mounted to the ceiling and a hanger attached to the slide-out room for moving within the guide rail. The guide rail has a generally C-shaped cross sectional configuration so as to provide a slot which extends longitudinally along the rail such that the hanger extends through the slot, the hanger having rollers supported within the guide rail to facilitate movement therein. The vehicle further comprises a side wall attached to the floor and the rear end wall perpendicularly orientated to both said end wall and floor such that the upper mechanism alternately includes a guide rail mounted to the side wall and the hanger attached at an inner most end of the slide-out room for moving within the guide rail. The slide-out room is elevated above the floor such that furniture can be stored beneath said slide-out room while in the retracted position. The lower mechanism includes hollowed rectangular frame members attached beneath the floor of the vehicle and support rails sidably disposed within the frame member. A spring loaded lock pin is attached to the frame member for interlocking with camming lugs that are mounted for and aft upon the support rail for securing the room in the fully extended and in the fully retracted position. A swing latch is mounted to the frame member and a hook is mounted at the aft end of the support rail for further securing the slide-out room in the fully retracted position. The vehicle includes a rear bumper assembly mounted to the lower mechanism for supporting the slide-out room. A curtain is attached to and extends downwardly from the slide-out room when said room is in the extended position such that gear and other articles may be stored beneath said slide-out room and within the curtain.
A slide-out room assembly for mobile living quarters, such as a recreational vehicle, includes a pair of side walls, a ceiling wall, and a floor wall, all of which are received in corresponding sockets in a frame that extends around the outer edges of the side walls, floor wall and ceiling wall. The frame includes an outwardly extending flange that engages the side wall of the main living quarters when the slide-out room is retracted. The outer wall panel is bonded to the flange by an appropriate adhesive and encloses the end of the slide-out room defined between the ends of the side walls, ceiling wall and floor wall. A raceway is provided in the frame that extends around ends of the side walls, floor wall and ceiling wall to permit the necessary electrical wiring to be routed around the end of the slide-out room.
A cammed vertical arm support system is described for the support and control of an expandable room that may be moved between a retracted position within a vehicle to an expanded position outward from the vehicle. The cammed relationship allows the room floor to lie above and generally parallel with the vehicle floor when the room is retracted and beside and generally flush with the vehicle floor when the room is extended. A moveable housing to conceal vertical arms is also disclosed.
