A reflective plate (10) is disclosed, comprising a substrate (1), a retroreflective sheet (2) adhered to the surface of said substrate and having substantially flat base portions (3) covered with said retroreflective sheet (2), the retroreflective sheeting having retroreflective elements and a light transmissive cover layer; and a plurality of projections (4) covered with said retroreflective sheet and present on the corners of regular polygons that are arranged to form a regularly repeated pattern, wherein the arrangement of the projections (4) satisfies the relationship 0.05<h/P<0.60.
A reflective article includes: a substrate sheet, and a retroreflective sheet covering a surface of said substrate sheet. The reflective article is provided with substantially flat base portions and a plurality of protrusions being partitioned off by the base portions and protruding toward said retroreflective sheet, and delamination of the substrate sheet and the retroreflective sheet from each other is prevented by folding back at least a part of an edge of one of the sheets so as to wrap at least a part of an edge of the other sheet therein in a condition that the reflective article is fixed to at least a surface of an object.
A Method of manufacturing a hollow, one piece, reflective pavement marker, including at least one retro-reflective face. The method includes molding a plurality of cube-corner reflective elements within a plurality of cells, defined by plural load carrying and partitioning walls. The pavement marker includes a profiled lower surface to improve agglutination to a roadway. The pavement marker can be made from high impact and abrasion resistant thermoplastics.
The invention provides new reflective markers, reflectors, and delineators with a variety of mounting apparatuses for attaching the same onto standard guardrails in an efficient and effortless manner, without affecting the safety feature, display utility, and visibility of the marker/reflectors/delineators mounted thereon. The present invention also provides a new guardrail reflector/delineator that is particularly useful in situations, locations, and/or places with limited or no lighting, for example, cloudy days, foggy areas, dark places, streets with no lights at night, etc.
A reflective pavement marker integrally molded in one piece structure having retroreflective face and structural body. The marker provide a mean to enhance agglutination to the roadway, if needed when bituminous based adhesive is used by maximizing the base area for adhesive wetting parameter. The reflective face and the structural body integrally made of high impact and abrasion resistance thermoplastic. Recessed reflective cells within the reflective face tend to minimize contact with tires and other abrasive roadway elements.
A reflective pavement marker having integrally molded one-piece structural body with multiple hollow cavities that are open only at the top reflective faces of the marker, two arcuate sides and integrally sealed planar base surface with textures and discontinuous grooves. This marker provides a device to enhance agglutination to the roadway, improve resistance to flexural stresses due to automobiles impact forces; this is accomplished by maximizing the base surface area for adhesive wetting parameter. The reflective plates are welded on wedge like tops of the partition walls separating hollow cavities from each other. The body can be made of various recycled or virgin structural plastics with high impact resistance and UV stability.
