Abstract
A spa cover lift frame is described for a spa cover which is formed of two halves and joined along a central hinge and rests against the top of a spa having upright left and right spa side walls and an end wall leading downwardly from the spa top. The preferred lift frame includes left and right mounting brackets configured to be mounted to the respective left and right spa side walls adjacent the end wall. Each of the left and right mounting brackets are preferably comprised of an elongated bracket flange configured to be mounted flush against a side wall of the spa with the second end adjacent the spa end wall. Pivots are situated on the mounting brackets, as are pivot stops. A "U" shaped reinforced carrier, including opposed substantially parallel support arm members and a cross member extending between the support arm members, is mounted to the brackets for pivotal motion about a lift axis. The left and right mounting brackets and the carrier are configured to be mounted on the spa side walls with the carrier pivotable on the lift axis between a down position wherein the cross member is positioned against the spa cover adjacent the hinge such that the spa cover may be folded over the cross member, and a raised position wherein the folded spa cover is supported on the cross member and is substantially upright and adjacent to the spa end wall.

7146656 - Apparatus for tipping a spa cover

An apparatus for raising and closing a hinged spa cover. A frame assembly extends over the rear panel of a bifold spa cover, and further is pivotally connected to a base assembly. In order to raise the spa cover from the spa tub, the front panel of the spa cover is folded over the rear panel and frame. The frame assembly pivots on the base assembly lifting the folded spa cover to an opened position. A stop connected to the frame assembly contacts the ground as the frame assembly pivots on the base, once the cover reaches a predetermined open position. The reverse steps will lower and close the spa cover onto the spa tub.

7114201 - Automatic shampoo machine - Owned by Sanyo Electric Co., LTD (Osaka,JP) Takara Belmont Corp. (Osaka,JP) Sanyo Electric Techno Clean Co., LTD (Osaka,JP)

An automatic shampoo machine used in beauty salons and the like, having improved operability and including a manual finish hair rinsing operation. A basin is provided with a hand shower and a hand shower valve to be operated by an operator standing behind, a hood for covering and uncovering the top of the basin and an open/close unit for opening/closing and moving the hood. The open/close unit guides the hood to a closing position, a first opening position and a second opening position. In the first position the hood is in an upright state behind the basin, and in the second position the hood is positioned on the left side of the basin. In the second position, the hood uncovers the rear side of the basin, whereby the operator can perform operations from the rear side of the basin without the hood interfering.

6381766 - Spa cover removal apparatus and method

A spa cover removal apparatus includes a pivot frame assembly having a pair of elongate side arms spaced apart to receive opposing cover side surfaces between the same for rotatably supporting the spa cover. Fixed to the spa is a stationary base, for pivotally supporting the pivot frame assembly. For this purpose, the stationary base is disposed under the pivot frame assembly. This arrangement, enables the spa cover to shift from a first horizontal covering position over the spa, to a second stowed position adjacent the back side of the spa as a rearwardly directed force is applied to the spa cover. Accordingly, the spa cover moves rearward and pivots relative to the side arms while the pivot frame assembly simultaneously pivots relative to the stationary base, about a substantially horizontal base pivot axis. In addition, a slide lock bar extends from the pivot frame assembly for sliding attachment to the spa side to restrict the spa cover against further movement once the same reaches the second stowed position. In another aspect, a portion of the pivot frame assembly extends in a downward direction from the base pivot axis so that the pivot frame assembly can engage the stationary base for restricting further pivotal movement of the pivot frame assembly when the same moves to the second stowed position.

6795984 - Spa cover lifting device

A spa cover lifting device employs a pivot bar attached to a piston and transverse bar. The pivot bar and piston are anchored adjacent to a spa, and the transverse bar extends in a perpendicular direction across the spa cover. The pivot bar is anchored to the spa by a first mounting bracket, and the piston is anchored to the spa by a separate, second mounting bracket. As the pivot bar is raised, it is augmented by the piston to assist in lifting the spa cover, while the transverse bar transfers the lifting force to the spa cover.

6859952 - Spa cover lifter apparatus and method

A spa cover lifter comprising opposing left and right side arm supports spaced apart to receive opposing left and right cover side surfaces between the same. Each side arm support has an upper end adapted to rotatably support a portion of the spa cover and an opposing lower end. Each side arm support is rotatably mounted to a spa side. Extending from the right side arm support, around the back spa side, to the opposing left side arm support is a lower linking member having opposing ends spaced apart to pivotally attach to the respective spaced apart left and right side arm supports. The linking member can pivot relative to the side arms, about a substantially horizontal axis to define a linking member pivot angle which is the angle between each side arm support and the linking member. The pivotal attachment point of the lower linking member to the respective side arm support is adjacent the respective lower end thereof. To maintain the relative angle between each side arm support and the linking member, an adjustable bracing extends between each side arm support and the linking member. The relative position between each side arm support and the linking member is adjustable.
