A liquid crystal display including a lamp, an U-shaped lamp housing surrounding the lamp, and a plastic housing fixed to the lamp housing. A grounding plate is placed between the plastic housing and the lamp housing, wherein the grounding plate has a first portion, placed between the lamp housing and the plastic housing and in contact with a portion of the lamp housing, and a second portion having an elastic portion that protrudes outward. A supporting frame is in contact with the plastic housing and the second portion of the grounding plate.
Through a cross-sectionally L-shaped leaf-spring metal fitting, a shield sheet and a shield casing or a bezel cover is electrically connected, to ground the shield sheet. The leaf-spring metal fitting has a horizontal section and a vertical section, and has first and second "tongue-shaped" leaf springs respectively on the horizontal and vertical sections. The horizontal section of the leaf-spring metal fitting is inserted between a resin frame of the backlight unit and the shield sheet disposed on lower face of a light-guide plate. Meanwhile, the vertical section of the leaf-spring metal fitting is sandwiched between a resin frame of the backlight unit and the shield casing.
A liquid crystal display device includes: a transmission-type liquid crystal panel; a sheet-like light source device for radiating light to a back surface of the liquid crystal panel, the sheet-like light source device including a lamp, a conducting lamp reflector, and a light-conducting plate; a circuit board connected to the liquid crystal panel for supplying a signal necessary for driving the liquid crystal panel; and a mechanism part for housing and holding all three of the liquid crystal panel, the sheet-like light source device, and the circuit board. The mechanism part includes at least one metal part, and the at least one metal part is fixedly attached to the lamp reflector via any one of a screw fastening member, a pinch fastening member, or a snap fastening member. The liquid crystal display device is capable of reducing display deficiencies due to electric noise and is also capable of obtaining clearer images.
A large thin display unit has a chassis structure with a first horizontally or vertically disposed enclosure, a second vertically extending enclosure mounted to the upper side of the first enclosure, and a third vertically extending enclosure mounted above the first enclosure behind the second enclosure. The second enclosure has an opening that opens toward a front of the unit and has a margin along the perimeter of the opening. The thin display section is fixed to the margin in a vertical position. Further, an air route is formed between the third enclosure and a planar portion of the second enclosure, and an air route is formed between the thin display section and the planar portion of the second enclosure. Also, a wiring space is formed between the thin display section and the planar portion of the second enclosure. Preferably, the thin display section is a large liquid-crystal display provided with a plurality of backlights.
A liquid crystal display module includes a liquid crystal panel, a main frame for supporting the liquid crystal panel, and a lamp housing with a lamp for supplying light to the liquid crystal panel such that the lamp housing defines one side of the liquid crystal display module so as to further reduce the weight and size of the liquid crystal display module for use in a portable computer.
A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes i) a plasma display panel displaying images, ii) a chassis base disposed on a rear portion of the plasma display panel, iii) a circuit unit disposed on a rear portion of the chassis base to drive the plasma display panel, and iv) at least one reinforcing member coupled to a rear surface of the chassis base. In addition, one of the chassis base and the reinforcing member includes two or more aligning recesses that are separated from each other, and the other includes aligning protrusions to be inserted into the aligning recesses. According to one embodiment of the invention, the reinforcing members can be located exactly and coupled rapidly to the chassis base.
