The present invention relates to leave on, skin care compositions, comprising: (a) from about 0.1% to about 30% of a sunscreen active, (b) from about 0.5% to about 20% of a hydrophobic, structuring agent, (c) from about 0.2% to about 10% of a hydrophilic surfactant, (d) from about 0.1% to about 5% of a thickening agent, (e) from about 0.1% to about 25% of a skin lightening agent and (f) water. These compositions are useful for providing (i) protection to human skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation and (ii) a skin lightening benefit.
CROSS-REFERENCE INFORMATION
This is a continuation-in-part of patent application Ser. No. 08/599,202 filed on Feb. 9, 1996, now U.S. Pat. No. 5,759,202.
A cosmetic composition is provided comprising vitamin B.sub.6, vitamin B.sub.3 and an organic acid. The components of the composition interact synergistically to enhance skin lightening.
The invention relates to a composition for topical use containing, in a physiologically acceptable medium having an aqueous phase, at least one oxidation-sensitive hydrophilic active principle and at least one non-crosslinked N-vinylimidazole polymer or copolymer, the active principle and the said polymer or copolymer both being in the aqueous phase.
Improved crosslinked ionic polymers or salts thereof having a soluble polymer fraction of less than about 15 wt %, and methods for making the same. The polymers are useful as bioadhesives, thickeners, emulsifiers, suspending aids, and pharmaceutical controlled release excipients.
There is provided a composition comprising one or more photoactive compounds and one or more optimization agents. Surprisingly, the composition requires a small amount of optimization agent to efficiently optimize the polarity, critical wavelength, SPF, PFA, Star Rating, photostability, or any combinations thereof, of the composition. Subsequently, an efficient sunscreen composition is achieved.
The invention encompasses bodywashes containing an additive. The additive may contain a sunscreen. The additive may contain 2, 3, or more than three sunscreens. Optionally, one or more of the sunscreens may be encapsulated. The invention further encompasses methods of making and using bodywashes containing an additive, e.g., an additive containing a sunscreen.
