Compounds of formula (I) in which R.sup.1=C.sub.1-6 alkyl, optionally halosubstituted; R.sup.2=H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, optionally halosubstituted or replaced by halogen; R.sup.3=C.sub.2-4 alkyl, optionally halosubstituted; R.sup.4=SO.sub.2NR.sup.5R.sup.&, CO.sub.2R.sup.7 or halogen, C.sub.2-4 alkenyl; optionally substituted with NR.sup.5R.sup.6, SONR.sup.5R.sup.6, CONR.sup.5R.sup.6, CO.sup.2R.sup.7 or halogen, C.sub.2-4 alkanoyl, optionally substituted with NR.sup.5R.sup.6, SONR.sup.5R.sup.6, CONR.sup.5R.sup.6, CO.sub.2R.sup.7 or halogen; R.sup.5 and R.sup.6=independently H or C.sup.1-4 alkyl, or, together with the N atom to which they are attached, a pyrrolidino, piperidino, morpholino, 4-(NR.sup.8)-1-piperazinyl or 1-imidazolyl ring optionally substituted with one or two C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups; R.sup.7=H, C.sup.1-4 alkyl, optionally fluorosubstituted, and R.sup.8=H,C.sup.1-3 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl with 1-4 C atoms, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are useful for the chemotherapeutic treatment of neuropathies.

A method for treatment of neuropsychiatric symptoms or disorders emanating from primary brain or systemic impairments includes administration of an effective dose of a dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor to a human in need of such treatment.
