Described herein is a complex between humic substances and iron denominated "iron humate" characterized in that it has a structure of the type: ##STR1## where the metal is protected from the pyrophosphate and from the humic substances (SU), obtained through a method comprising the following phases: a) dosage of the humic extracts b) purification of said humic extracts through centrifuging or filter pressing to eliminate any suspended particles c) transfer of the floating product into a mixer d) preparation of a solution of K.sub.4 P.sub.2 O.sub.7 10H.sub.2 O e) mixing solution d) with an aqueous solution of FeSO.sub.4 7H.sub.2 O containing a minimum quantity of H.sub.2 SO.sub.4 operating slowly and keeping the humic extract under vigorous agitation f) after agitation for a few minutes, rapid drying at 60-90.degree. C.
A fungicidal composition for controlling fungal diseases in plants, which includes a fungicide, and a complex organic composition derived from natural organic materials. The organic composition may comprise a humic acid composition, a fulvic acid composition, a humin component composition, mixtures thereof or other extracts from natural organic materials such as leonardite, lignite, peat, shale, sediments and soil. The fungicidal composition includes a phosphorus-containing compound such as phosphorous acid, a phosphite salt, and a phosphate salt or mixtures thereof. The preferred embodiments of the compositions provide enhanced control of select fungal diseases in plants as well as enhanced plant nutrient uptake abilities. The invention also includes processes for producing the fungicidal compositions and methods for applying the fungicidal compositions to plants.
A method of treating plant biomass material involves treating the material with sesquioxide mineral forming constituents to form protective coatings on surfaces of the material and to alter the bulk physical and chemical properties of the treated material. The material is treated with an aqueous solution of soluble iron and/or aluminum thus improving microbial stability and quality of the materials.
