A cleaning implement such as a mop or broom having an elongated tubular handle with several independently rotatable portions for minimizing the strain on a user's wrist or forearm. The handle may be interchangeably connected to either a mop or broom head using a quick type connector at a distal end thereof. The connector relates to a pair of diametrically opposing pins which are slidably received within L-shaped slots on a body portion protruding from the mop and broom heads. Alternatively, the handle may be secured to a cylindrical adaptor likewise having a pair of L-shaped slots thereon. The adaptor has an externally threaded portion at a distal end for threadedly engaging internally threaded bores on certain conventional mop and broom heads.
A cleaning/scrub brush has an adapter integrally molded into the body of the brush. The distal end of the adapter is totally enclosed within the plastic body of the brush and has a structure to increase the surface area of the adapter within the brush to strengthen the molded bond. The proximal end of the adapter has a spring loaded pin to secure an elongated handle to the brush.
A microphone stand assembly includes an automatically operated anti-rotation arrangement for preventing inadvertent disengagement of the shaft from the base.
A tool extension assembly including an extension pole connected to a connecting device and a tool assembly having a handle with an insert secured therein. A transversely-extending pin is movably mounted to the connecting device and is biased by a spring. The insert has a cylindrical side wall with an interior surface that defines an interior bore and interior edges that define a pair of opposing slots. The slots extend axially and circumferentially along the side wall. The connecting device is receivable in the bore of the insert such that when end portions of the pin are disposed in the slots and the handle is rotated in a first direction, the interior edges of the insert move the pin against the bias of the spring until the pin reaches end portions of the slots, at which point the pin exerts a force against the interior edges of the insert that pulls the tool assembly and the extension pole assembly together.
A microphone stand assembly utilizes a low profile base of modified hexagonal peripheral configuration, and a screw-in shaft of adjustable height. A coarse thread affords durability and facilitates assembly and disassembly, and an anti-rotation arrangement cooperates with the base construction to provide stability and convenience of use.
