Mixed agricultural compositions, and methods for their use are disclosed. The agricultural compositions are prepared by a process comprising mixing together nonionic polyglycol ethers, or oxidation products thereof, and a carrier material. The carrier typically comprises an aqueous or non-aqueous liquid solvent or a solid core material, such as a fertilizer. The carrier may further comprise biologically active agents such as herbicides, insecticides, chemosterilants, nematicides, and fungicides. The agricultural compositions can be used to promote the growth of plants in soil, to improve the control of agricultural pests, and to enhance soil bioremediation.
A concentrated, liquid herbicidal composition is disclosed. The composition contains a low volatile ester of a first herbicide, a free acid form of a second herbicide, and an aprotic solvent. A granular herbicide containing a solid substrate having the concentrated, liquid herbicidal composition applied to surfaces of the substrate also is disclosed.
A concentrated, liquid herbicidal composition containing a low volatile ester of a first herbicide, a solid second herbicide comprising fluroxypyr in the form of a free acid and/or a solid ester, and an aprotic solvent is disclosed. A granular herbicide containing a solid substrate having the concentrated, liquid herbicidal composition applied to the substrate also is disclosed.
A biodegradable golf tee having fertilizer properties and method of making the same. According to a preferred embodiment, the golf tee comprises the combination of bentonite, potassium nitrate, and sodium nitrate that are formed into the configuration of a conventional golf tee. Optionally, sodium nitrate, sand, or a pigment, such as chromium (III) oxide, may further be added. The golf tee is specifically designed to degrade when contacted with water or atmospheric air having a humidity of at least 20% or higher. The biodegradable golf tee may further be modified to include soil modifying agents, such as gypsum, as well as grass seed. The invention further comprises methods for forming the biodegradable golf tees of the present invention.
