Abstract
A bird feeder comprising an outer enclosure having one or more access ports to the interior of the enclosure and an insert mounted for telescoping movement into the interior of the outer enclosure. The insert is formed with at least one compartment for storing feed with one or more openings into the insert adapted to permit access to the compartment. The insert is dimensioned to define a collection space between the outer enclosure and the insert when the insert is telescoped into the interior of the outer member. The collection space accumulates feed spilled from the compartment by feeding birds to prevent wastage. The insert is movable between a first raised position in which the openings in the insert generally align with the access ports of the outer enclosure to permit feeding by birds, and a second lowered position in which the compartment of the insert is positioned to automatically receive spilled feed from the collection space.

6481375 - Repairable bird feeder

A feeder including a seed platform, a plurality of end panels, a plurality of side panels and a roof structure. In one embodiment, roof panels and chimneys fitted with removable chimney caps form a roof structure for the feeder. Feed may pass through the chimneys and feeder throats before reaching the seed platform. The feeder throats can have access ports that include feed regulators. In one aspect of this embodiment, a bin separator is located bilaterally between at least two of the end panels, the bin separator fixedly secured to two throat keepers and at least one of the side panels. 7530330 - Combination birdfeeder and fountain

A combination birdfeeder and fountain for outdoor use in one contained unit. The combination birdfeeder and fountain includes both a feeding station, and a fountain unit with circulating water. The combination birdfeeder and fountain addresses the basic needs of birds by providing a food storing and dispensing area, a fountain for drinking and bathing, and includes a means for illuminating the birdfeeder and fountain at night. The device may be operated by conventional power sources including AC, DC or solar energy, and may also include a heating means to warm the device in cold environments. An ornamental lighted device may be placed on top of the birdfeeder and fountain to further provide ornamental features, and illumination.

6318290 - Automatic bird feeder and waterer

An automatic bird feeder and waterer includes both a food and a water reservoir therein, as well as dispensing areas for food and water supplied from the respective reservoirs. The water reservoir comprises a generally cylindrical container installed concentrically through the generally cylindrical food reservoir. The water outlet or dispensing portion is laterally offset by an upturned elbow, which also serves as the lowermost point of the assembly. The feed dispensers may include partial covers to preclude the feeding of larger non-flying animals (squirrels, etc.) therefrom. The device is supported by a rigid support extending downwardly from the elbow. The support column may be anchored in a massive block (concrete, etc.), which may in turn be placed in a decorative container (flowerpot or the like). The entire assembly may be constructed substantially from prefabricated plumbing or pipe components, particularly those formed from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic material. The use of such PVC material allows either adhesive or mechanical fastening of components to one another during assembly of the device.

6957626 - Bird feeder with releasably removable base

A bird feeder having an elongate bird feed container open at opposed ends thereof. The bird feed container defines a longitudinal axis A and has a plurality of feeding ports provided in a sidewall of the bird feed container to facilitate eating by a bird. A removable cover covers the top end of the bird feed container, and the cover has both an open position, in which the cover is spaced from the top end to facilitate supplying bird feed into the bird feed container, and a closed position, in which the cover engages with and covers the top end of the bird feed container. A handle member connected to the bird feed container for hanging the bird feeder. A removable base engages with the bottom end of the bird feed container. The removable base has a closed position, for sealing the open bottom end of the bird feed container, and an open position in which the base is removed from the bird feed container to facilitate cleaning of the bird feed container and the base. Relative movement between the base and the bird feed container, both along the longitudinal axis of the bird feeder as well as rotation about the longitudinal axis is required for removing the base from the bird feed container. A cage surrounds and encases the bird feed container.
