A portable windguard for use on a pipe to shield a weld being applied from wind comprising a collar, a Velcro.TM. belt for attaching and securing the collar to the pipe and a shield extending generally perpendicularly from the collar. The shield can be collapsible, hence readily transportable from site to site.
The invention relates to a rotational flash guard and method of use of a rotational flash guard. In general, the flash guard is attached to a support frame by an arm, a linkage mechanism pivotally interconnects the arm and the support frame, and an extensible power member connects the support frame to the linkage mechanism. Due to the unique configuration of the rotational flash guard it is adapted for movement about a work piece positioner to allow for use of a robotic tool while providing protection to the operator and other workers.
A pipe leadthrough which can be fitted in a simple and functionally reliable manner and which ensures complete sealing against penetrating moisture on a permanent basis is described. This is achieved by the fact that the pipe leadthrough is formed of a pipe sleeve that has a hollow-cylindrical portion and an adjoining plate-shaped portion. The hollow-cylindrical portion has an internal diameter which is identical to or slightly greater than the external diameter of a pipe and on the hollow-cylindrical portion there is at least one hollow body with a destructible covering, which body is filled with a sealant.
A self-darkening shield for replaceably attaching to a torch. The self-darkening shield includes a shield and apparatus. The shield replaceably attaches to the torch, is self-darkening, and is a plate that is substantially inverted U-shaped to straddle the torch to provide shielding not only above the torch but also to its sides. The apparatus is operatively connected to the shield and replaceably attaches the shield to the torch.
