An indicating device for use with a dispensing device that dispenses metered dosages of a medicament from a container having a valve moveable between an open and closed position. In a preferred embodiment, the container is reciprocally moveable within the housing along a longitudinal axis. The housing preferably has a well adapted to receive a valve stem and an exhaust port. The well communicates with the port such that the metered dosage of medicament is dispensed through the port when the valve is moved to the open position. An indicator assembly comprises an indicator member that includes dosage indicia visible to a user. In a preferred embodiment, the indicator assembly is provided in an indicator module. A method for dispensing measured dosages is also provided, along with a kit capable of being assembled as an inhalation device. A delivery system having a key member and a key entry passageway is also provided.

No license, expressed or implied, is intended to be granted to application Ser. No. 09/008,184, or any patents issuing therefrom, by reason of the incorporation by reference herein.
A powder dispensing/collection device for indoor testing of pneumatic tires includes a first outer housing (12) having an open end (24) facing a road wheel (94). First and second adjustable shrouds (28), (32) are disposed on an upper and lower portion of the outer housing respectfully. The shrouds are selectively moveable in a direction perpendicular to a width (w) of the outer housing. A second inner housing (48) is partially enclosed by the outer housing and has an open end (64) facing the road wheel which protrudes out from the outer housing a predetermined distance. At least one of the outer walls of the inner housing and the inner walls of the outer housing define a vacuum collection chamber (76). The inner housing is manually moveable within the outer housing so that the distance between the open end of the inner housing and the road wheel can be adjusted. A hose (78) extends through an aperture (80) in the inner housing and into the dispensing chamber. A spray nozzle (84) is connected to the free end of the hose. The position of the spray nozzle within the dispensing chamber is adjustable by manually moving the nozzle backward or forward within the inner housing. At least one vacuum duct (82a, 82b) is operatively connected to a rear wall (22) of the outer housing for transferring a vacuum force to the vacuum collection chamber.
There is provided a dispenser suitable for dispensing medicament, particularly medicament for use in the treatment of respiratory disorders. The dispenser comprises a housing (1) having a support (5), a container (2), locatable within said housing (1), having an outlet (3), wherein said container (2) dispenses through said outlet (3) in response to movement of the container (2) relative to the housing (1) and an actuation indicator having an indexing mechanism (13,43) actutable by movement of the container (2) relative to the housing (1). The indexing mechanism (13, 43) includes a coupling element to compensate for excess movement of the container (2) relative to the housing (1).
Apparatus comprising a housing (1) defining a portion (2) for receiving in use a dose-dispensing container (20), the housing containing a dose counter comprising an annular counter member (40) and a driving member (41), the driving member comprising a planar ring portion (50) and first and second sets of flexible teeth (51, 52) depending from opposite sides of the planar ring portion, the first set of dependant fexible teeth (51) engaging a first series of teeth (47) formed on the annular counter member, wherein on movement of the received dose-dispensing container towards the driving member the first and second sets of dependant flexible teeth are caused to flex towards the plane of the ring portion to thereby incrementally rotate the annular counter member in a first direction relative to the housing.
A dose indicator for a fluid dispenser device, said indicator comprising: a body (4); an actuator (1) that is mounted to turn relative to said body (4) about a first axis, and including drive means (14, 15); and a cylindrical indicator element (2) that is mounted to turn relative to said body (4) about a second axis and including a set of teeth (21) that co-operate with said drive means (14, 15) of said actuator (1) so as to turn each time the dispenser device is actuated, said indicator element (2) further including numeric and/or symbolic indicator means (25) so as to indicate to the user the number of doses that have been dispensed or that remain to be dispensed from said dispenser device; said actuator (1) co-operating with actuator means (7) secured to said body (4), said actuator means (7) being displaced in translation each time the dispenser device is actuated, and co-operating with said actuator (1) so as to transform the translation of said actuator means (7) into said actuator (1) turning.
There is provided a dispenser suitable for dispensing medicament, particularly medicament for use in the treatment of respiratory disorders. The dispenser comprises a housing (1) having a support (5); a container (2), locatable within said housing (1), having an outlet member, wherein said container (2) is movable relative to the housing (1) to enable dispensing therefrom and said outlet member is connectable with said support (5) to prevent relative movement there-between; and a dose indicator (13, 43), locatable within said housing (1). The container (2) and dose indicator (13, 43) are reversably removable from the housing (1) as a single unit.
