Abstract
A device for fixing a fuel injector (12) in an internal combustion engine cylinder head (1) whereon is set a camshaft bracket (4) top surface delimiting with this surface a chamber (8) containing valve-actuating mechanical members. The injector (12) passes through the camshaft bracket (4) and the cylinder head (1) supported on the base (18) of a recess (14) in the cylinder head by a fork (20) fixed by a screw (26) to the cylinder head (1). The fork (20) is arranged in the chamber (8) under a camshaft (6) extending perpendicular to said shaft (6) and comprises two branches (20a, 20b) which are supported on either side of the injector body (12), in useful fixing position, on two wings (21, 22) symmetrically arranged on the injector (12) body periphery.

6698400 - Piston internal combustion engine comprising a deflection-resistant cross brace for sealingly fixing fuel injection - Owned by FEV Motorentechnik GmbH (Aachen,DE) Isuzu Motors Limited (Tokyo,JP)

The invention relates to a piston internal combustion engine comprising upper camshafts (2, 3) for actuating gas exchange valves, whereby respectively adjacent lying bearings of the induction-side camshaft (2) and the exhaust-side camshaft (3) are provided with a covering element (5) scaling both bearings. The inventive engine is also provided with direct fuel injection by means of a respective injector device (7) which has a nozzle part and which is associated with a cylinder (I, II, III, IV). The nozzle part is sealingly inserted into an opening in the cylinder head (1) and a cross brace (8) is fixed to the cylinder head (1) in a deflection-resistant manner, overlapping with at least one injector device (7). The cross brace is connected to tightening elements (11) enabling the injector devices (7) to be sealingly tightened in relation to the cross brace (8). The cross brace (8) is connected to least two neighbouring bearing-covering elements (5).

6772736 - Fastening device - Owned by Robert Bosch GmbH (Stuttgart,DE)

A mounting device for securing a fuel injector in a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine has at least one hold-down device which is mounted on a front face of the cylinder head and secures fuel injector in a receiving bore of the cylinder head. The at least one hold-down device is supported by a shoulder which is formed at the downstream end of the fuel injector and surrounds the fuel injector at least partially.

6431152 - Injector hold down clamp - Owned by International Engine Intellectual Property Company, L.L.C. (Warrenville, IL)

The present invention provides a compact injector hold down clamp assembly that allows for disassembly of the fuel injector from a cylinder head without prying the fuel injector from the cylinder head. The injector hold down clamp assembly comprises a clamp having a fastener channel and a retainer ring bore, a fastener with a retainer ring section that is operatively inserted in the fastener channel, and a retaining ring that is operatively attached to the fastener retainer ring section. The retaining ring acts on the retainer ring bore during disassembly and thereby allows the fuel injector and injector hold down clamp assembly to be removed simultaneously. The retaining ring is a partial ring that extends about 230 degrees. The injector clamp further comprises a rear clamp seat, and a first and second a clamp arm that engage the fuel injector.

7347189 - Fuel injector clamp with retaining sleeve - Owned by International Engine Intellectual Property Company, LLC (Warrenville, IL)

The following describes an apparatus for and method of clamping a device, such as a fuel injector, to a platform, such as a cylinder head, and thereafter removing the device from the platform together with the clamp. A retaining sleeve is deformed such that the retaining sleeve is held in place between the clamp and a ledge on a fastener disposed within the clamp. The retaining sleeve secures the fastener to the clamp during removal of the fastener, thereby providing that the clamp assembly and the device, such as a fuel injector, are removed together.
