The printer comprises a first receptacle (11) for the sheets to be printed, a sheet feeding path (27) with a printing zone (14) and a second receptacle (15) for the printed sheets. The latter is integral with an intermediate storing device having storage trays (42, 43) thus forming a group (44) which can be pivoted about a shaft (45). The sheets printed on a first face are fed by conveying members (57) into the storage trays, retained for drying, fed again into the feeding path (27) where they are reversed for printing on their second face and then arranged in the second receptacle (15). Accordingly a duplex printer is obtained, which can be used reliably with ink jet printheads, and which works dependably, has low overall dimensions and is simple and inexpensive to build.
A recording apparatus includes: a recording unit which records an image by ejecting ink to a conveyed recording medium; a conveying unit which returns the recording medium, on which the image has been recorded by the recording unit, in order toward an upstream side in a conveying direction; and a reversal unit which is provided at a downstream side of the conveying unit in a returning direction, the reversal unit including a plurality of holding units which respectively suck and hold a recording medium that has been returned by the conveying unit, reverse the recording medium, and send the recording medium to the recording unit.
A double-side automatic feeding apparatus comprises a paper feeder, a first paper holder, a second paper holder, a document traveling path and a paper flipping unit. The paper feeder, the first paper holder and the second paper holder are arranged apart in longitudinal direction. The document traveling path is of E shape and connected to the paper feeder, the first paper holder and the second paper holder. The document traveling path is provided with a plurality of rollers to move a document from the paper feeder to one of the first paper holder and the second paper holder. The paper flipping unit is arranged in the document traveling path and can be trigger to flip the document during the document traveling path. By the double-side automatic feeding apparatus, a document can be selectively printed or scanned on single- or double-side thereof at user's disposal.
An image recording apparatus is disclosed wherein an image is recorded on a recording medium based on image information by ejecting liquid droplets from a liquid droplet ejecting head. A liquid droplet ejecting head is provided which has an ejection region substantially corresponding to a width of the recording medium. A conveyor unit is provided which conveys the recording medium to the ejection region of the liquid droplet ejecting head with the recording medium attracted and attached thereto and supported thereon. The recording medium is fed from the conveyor unit to a paper discharge section. Further, a plurality of attracting and supporting sub-units are provided which are vertically moved with the recording medium, which is delivered thereto from the conveyor unit, attracted and attached thereto and supported thereon, thereby conveying the recording medium to a subsequent step.
A media path control device has two sets of parallel arms with opposing rollers to manipulate the movement of print media. The arms are moveable in a substantially vertical plane through motors. The arms can be of different lengths to establish an optimal trajectory or height of the media to change the trajectory or travel path of the media. The rollers are reversible to change the trajectory or travel path of the media. Rotation of the arms may be stopped at various points along their travel arc to position the media at a desired or plane.
A continuous print media printer prints inks and drying agents substantially simultaneously to aid drying of the inks. The drying agent may be a fixative. The inks and drying agent may be printed by different printheads, one located downstream of the other.
