A cartridge magazine displacement mechanism for a charge-operated setting tool and including a spring-biased transfer member (13) pivotable about a first pivot (15), cooperating with the trigger (6) and displaceable substantially parallel to an actuation direction of the trigger (6), a spring-biased, one-arm displacement lever (7) cooperating with a free end of the transfer member (13), pivotable about a second pivot (8) fixedly secured in the setting tool housing, and having an engaging dog (12) provided at a free end of the displacement lever displaceable substantially parallel to a longitudinal extent of the cartridge channel of the setting tool, and engageable in or liftable off the cartridge channel, with the first pivot (15) being arranged on the displacement lever (7) between the second pivot and the engaging dog.
A portable setting tool includes a housing (2), a guide tube (3) for guiding the fastening elements and connectable with the housing and having a side cut-out through which the fastening elements are fed into the guide tube (3), and a feeler (13) extendable into the guide tube (3) at a location opposite the cut-out (11) of the guide tube (3) and having, at an end thereof extendable into the guide tube (3), an end surface (13a) providing for displacement of the feeler (13) in a direction transverse t a longitudinal axis (14) of the guide tube (3) upon being acted upon by a fastening element, and an adjusting rim (17) adjoining the end surface (13a) and forming, with a longitudinal axis (14) of the guide tube (3), an acute angle (.alpha.1) opening in a direction toward a mouth opening of the guide tube (3) with the adjusting rim providing for displacement of the feeler (13) in the transverse direction upon being acted upon by an object displaceable along the longitudinal axis (14) of the guide tube (3).
A nail gun includes a body which is provided with an upright slot and a horizontal slot. The upright slot is used to accommodate an explosive array while the horizontal slot is used to disposed a trigger mechanism for discharging nails by the force of the explosive array. The trigger mechanism has a link rod, an actuation rod, a nail firing tube, and a recovery spring. The link rod is triggered by the nail firing tube in motion to bring about the stretching of the recovery spring and the swiveling of the actuation rod such that a retaining hook of the actuation rod is retained in one of a series of retaining slots of the explosive array. The explosive array is forced to move upward by the retaining hook of the actuation rod at such time when the link rod is relieved of the pressure of the nail firing tube.
An explosive powder charge-operated setting tool for driving fastening elements in a constructional component includes a propellant-driven setting mechanism, an ignition element (23) for igniting a propellant (71) received in the propellant receptacle (18) of the setting mechanism, and a transporting device (30) for displacing a propellant magazine in a guide channel (22) and including elements operable by the ignition element (23) for displacing the transporting device from a first position in which the transportation of propellants is prevented, into a second position in which at least partial transportation of the propellants is possible.
A compression triggered powder driven fastening tool having a firing mechanism with a sleeve axially movable between first and second positions, a lever cam coupled to the sleeve or some other reciprocating portion of the tool and movable therewith, an indexing lever pivotally coupled to the tool, the indexing lever having a magazine strip engagement portion extending into a magazine channel of the tool, the indexing lever having a cam follower portion engaged with the lever cam, the magazine strip engagement portion of the indexing lever moves between first and second positions in the magazine channel as the sleeve moves with the reciprocating portion of the tool to which it is coupled, the magazine engagement portion of the indexing lever indexes a magazine strip through a channel of the tool.
In a powder driven fastening tool, a channel is included for feeding a strip of explosive powder cartridges to a firing mechanism. A trigger is included for actuating the firing mechanism, wherein the trigger is movable between a first position and a second position. An advancing lever is pivotally coupled to the tool, the advancing lever having a strip engagement portion for indexing the strip which extends into the channel. An advance link is cammingly engaged with the advancing lever and is operationally associated with the trigger so that the strip engagement portion is in a first position in the channel when the trigger is in the first position and so the strip engagement portion is in a second position when the trigger is in the second position.
