An electronic timepiece having a universal, wireless controller for transmitting wireless signals that control features of a plurality of systems. In a first aspect of the present invention, the electronic timepiece includes a data store which contains a library of control signals. In one embodiment, the library of control signals may be detached from the electronic timepiece so that new control signals may be added to the library. Each of the control signals can be retrieved and transmitted by the universal, wireless controller to emulate a conventional wireless transmitter which controls functions of a corresponding one of the plurality of systems. The electronic timepiece includes the capability for selectively retrieving a control signal for a target system from the library. In one embodiment of the present invention, the selective retrieving is performed in response to input entered through a programmable interface. In a preferred embodiment, the electronic timepiece is a multiple operating mode device where, in a first operating mode, the timepiece displays a time of day and other timepiece-related information and, in a second, emulation operating mode, the timepiece transmits the control signals to control at least one function of a selected one of the plurality of systems. In a second aspect of the present invention, the electronic timepiece includes a learning operating mode. The learning mode electronic timepiece includes a receiver for receiving coded messages, a decoder for decoding the received coded messages and for extracting control signals received therein. The extracted control signals then being added to the library of control signals. In this way, transmissions of a conventional, wireless transmitter can be learned.
A clock stores time data indicative of time of operation of a power machine. A timing circuit provides a timing signal and a controller is coupled to a timing circuit and to a memory, which includes a plurality of memory locations. An elapsed time value is maintained, based on the timing signal, by the timing circuit, and a subset of a plurality of memory locations is intermittently updated with the elapsed time value.
The present invention utilizes the advantages provided by a portable, wearable timepiece such as an electronic wristwatch for integration with a security system and performing various functions as a result of the timekeeping integration. First, the control panel of the security system may be synchronized by the timepiece, either automatically or when selected by a user. Second, the timepiece may be programmed to send certain commands to the control panel at certain times, such as a command to arm the system at 11:00 PM every night. Third, the timepiece can be used to send commands to the control panel on detection of a button press, but only after a countdown delay specified by the user. This gives the user the ability to press a system arm command that would only be sent after a delay of, for example, 15 seconds.
The method relates to the input of a security code by means of a touch screen of an electronic device such as a watch for access to a specific function, an apparatus or a given location. This touch screen comprises control keys, which can be activated by a manual action of a user using a finger or a stylus. Each key is linked to a microprocessor unit of the electronic device. The method comprises steps which consist of placing a finger or stylus on a key of the touch screen, which represents a first reference of the code to be entered, moving the finger or stylus from the first reference to a key of a second reference over a specific trajectory through the microprocessor unit, keeping the finger on the second reference for a given period of time or detecting a change in trajectory of the finger in the area of the key of the second reference to be input, moving the finger from the key of the second reference to a key of a third reference over a specific trajectory, and removing the finger or stylus from the touch screen to validate the entered code and access to the function, apparatus or given location.
The invention concerns a watch including a case fitted with a glass and containing display means able to be observed through the glass, characterised in that said glass is made from a plate formed of a fiber optic group.
A device for wearing on the wrist of a user and being capable of operating multiple remote controlled devices. The device includes a band, a remote control transmitter, and a plurality of buttons. The band is worn around the wrist of a user. The remote control transmitter is disposed at the band and selectively transmits different signals. Each signal selectively transmitted by the remote control transmitter is received by a specific receiver operatively connected to a remote controlled device, and when the specific receiver receives an associated signal, the remote controlled device operatively connect thereto operates. The plurality of buttons are disposed at the band and are operatively connected to the remote control transmitter. Each button is associated with a specific signal so as to allow the specific signal to be transmitted when an associated button is activated.
