Abstract
A chain comprises inner link plates that are each connected to an adjacent outer link plate by means of at least one pin that passes through overlapping portions of the respective links. Outboard of the inner link plates the pin supports a rotary bush with a radially extending flange. The bush in turn supports one end of an outer link plate and a roller. The outer link plate is an interference fit with the bush and the roller is rotatable relative thereto. In use the rollers are supported on a guide rail as the chain moves. The location of the bush bearing and roller provides easy access for maintenance and lubrication.

6978886 - Non-metallic drive chain - Owned by Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. (Dallas, TX)

A drive chain is made up of links injection molded of fiber-reinforced nonmetallic material. The chain links feature pivot bearings molded integrally to the links, which take all loads due to drive tension and relieve the connecting pins of all shear stress. The links also have all features for attachment to driven components molded integrally. The moving structural parts are separated by nonmetallic bushings filled with solid lubricating additives to reduce friction and wear. The chain rollers may also incorporate metallic ball bearings to reduce friction drag on guide track.

7334677 - Conveyor chain comprising chain links connected to one another via pivoting bearings, and a method for assembling the chain links - Owned by Ferag AG (Hinwil,CH)

In a conveyor chain, which includes chain links (1) being connected to one another via pivoting bearings (4), each chain link (1) has two link plates (2 and 3) and a bolt (5) which connects the two bolt ends (2.2 and 3.2) of the link plates (2 and 3) and is articulately mounted in the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3) of an adjacent chain link. The bearing housing of the pivoting bearing (4) comprises two bearing housing parts (8 and 9), and each bearing housing part (8 and 9) comprises a part flange (17). The part flange (17) of the bearing housing parts (8 and 9), and the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3) are held together with the help of a common fixation means, in a manner such that, alone by way of this fixation means, the bearing housing parts (8 and 9) firmly enclose the bearing body (6) and are fastened in the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3), secured against rotation and axial displacement, and the bearing ends (2.1 and 3.1) of the link plates (2 and 3) are fixed relative to one another.

6991094 - Conveyor chain - Owned by Frost Links, Inc. (Grand Rapids, MI)

A section of chain for conveying product along a material handling system includes a pin connecting a center link between two side links. The pin may have a sleeve portion around and at least partially along the shaft portion of the pin. The sleeve portion may engage a center link of the section of chain and may be movable relative to the shaft portion. The sleeve portion may comprise a polymeric material. The sleeve portion may be molded over an I-pin or the like, or may be slid or pressed onto a stud-ended pin or bolt or the like. The pin may include a generally spherical-shaped ball member or portion on the shaft portion to enhance flexibility of the section of chain. The pin may be dialable or selectably positioned at the side links to control and adjust the wear surface of the pin relative to the chain links.

7246699 - Conveyor chain - Owned by Frost Links, Inc. (Grand Rapids, MI)

A section of chain for conveying product along a material handling system includes a pin connecting a center link between two side links. The pin may be dialable or selectably positioned at the side links to control and adjust the wear surface of the pin relative to the chain links. The pin may have a rotationally non-symmetrical shaft portion to provide different wear surfaces that engage a center link of the section of chain. The different wear surfaces may be sized and shaped to accommodate wear at the wear surface of the center link. The shaft portion may include a rotationally non-symmetrical ball member or portion on the shaft portion to enhance flexibility of the section of chain. The pin may be dialed to the next position or wear surface in response to an output of a wear measurement device or system.

7520379 - Conveyor chain pin with reservoir - Owned by Frost Links, Inc. (Grand Rapids, MI)

A chain pin or pin element for connecting chain links together to form a section of a chain for conveying products along a conveyor line or path of a material handling system includes a shaft portion and a head portion at at least one end of the shaft portion. The shaft portion is received through respective chain links to define a joint of the section of chain, while the head portion or head portions retain the pin at the links. At least one head portion of at least some of the pins includes a reservoir and a channel formed therein. The reservoir is configured to receive a lubricating fluid, such as from a lubricating device of the material handling system, while the channel functions to distribute the lubricant from the reservoir and toward and onto the shaft portion of the pin to lubricate the joint of the chain.
