A roller is formed of at least two adjacent roller barrels. Each of the roller barrels has its own shaft that defines an axis of rotation for its associated roller barrel. The axes of rotation of the several roller barrels can be independently positioned. A support is located between the two roller barrels and supports the shafts of the two adjacent barrels. This central support is able to be adjusted.
An inking system is comprised of rollers. At least one roller has a barrel with at least two separate sections. One of these casing sections is arranged in a manner which permits it to be changed independently of the other casing section.
A rotogravure printing unit includes a forme cylinder and an inker unit. The inker unit includes a trough which holds liquid or pasty ink. A first inking roller, which can rotate inside the trough, extends over a first width section of the trough and the forme cylinder. A second inking roller, which can also rotate inside the trough, extends over a second width section of the forme cylinder or the trough.
