An ink jet marker includes a writing instrument body with a cartridge disposed therein. A printing nozzle is coupled with said reservoir and receives control signals from an electrical control circuit to dispense ink droplets according to user input.
CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
This application is a continuation-in-part of application Ser. No. 08/848,065, filed on Apr. 28, 1997, the subject matter of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
An imaging apparatus includes a print engine operable in a plurality of print modes. An interface device is communicatively coupled to the print engine. The interface device includes a control lever having a plurality of positions. The plurality of positions corresponds to the plurality of print modes, wherein the control lever is manually manipulated to select a desired print mode of the plurality of print modes.
An inkjet cartridge for dispensing a predetermined amount of reagents is provided. The inkjet cartridge comprises an inkjet print head and an array of capillary tubes. The print head is provided with a plurality of channels. The capillary tubes, filled with predetermined reagents, are disposed on the inkjet print head so as to communicate with the channels respectively and provide capillarity sufficient to prevent the reagents in the capillary tubes from leaking through the channels but not so great as to prevent the reagents in the capillary tubes from dispensing through the channels.
A docking station includes a housing operable to receive and releasably secure a handheld printer, and a freeing mechanism, where the freeing mechanism is operable to release the handheld printer from the housing. The docking station also includes a print head cap operable to receive a print head of the handheld printer when the handheld printer is secured in the housing, and a print head wiper, where the print head wiper is operable to wipe the print head of the handheld printer during the release of the handheld printer from the housing.
A cartridge for a pen-like modular printing device is provided. The printing device includes a chassis defining a print media feed path, a feed mechanism to feed said media along the feed path, a feed path width printhead for printing on said media, and a controller for controlling the feed mechanism and printhead. The cartridge defines at least one ink reservoir which is operatively arranged in fluid communication with the printhead via ink channels defined in the chassis. The cartridge further has an integrated circuit for monitoring ink levels in the reservoir, with the integrated circuit operatively arranged in signal communication with the controller. The cartridge is shaped and configured to be received in the pen-like chassis.
