A display apparatus of the projection type is improved in that, when a lamp valve breaks or is to be replaced, glass fragments and so forth thereof are prevented from being scattered into the inside of an outer housing of a projector apparatus through a cooling air intake port in a portion of the outer casing below the lamp valve and a comparatively small number of cooling fans are used to reduce the size and the weight of the overall display apparatus while optical modulation elements, a light source element and so forth can be forcibly cooled in a high efficiency. Cooling air blasted from an air blasting fan is blasted through an air blasting duct to three spatial optical modulation elements, a PS conversion element and a discharge lamp to forcibly air-cool the elements. A lamp box in which the light source is accommodated and which is removably mounted in an outer housing has a cooling air intake port through which cooling air is taken in to the light source. A shutter mechanism automatically opens the cooling air intake port when the lamp box is mounted in position into the outer housing, but automatically closes up the cooling air intake port when the lamp box is removed outwardly from the outer housing.
A light source, a device, a fan, a board part, and the like are arranged at their respective predetermined positions within a housing of a data projector apparatus. The light source and the device are arranged closer to the front panel. The board part is arranged on the rear side that is opposite to the front panel. The fan is arranged between the light source and the board part. An air intake port is formed on the side of housing for taking air into the housing. An air exhaust port is formed at the front panel for exhausting the air within housing. An aluminum tape member is attached on the backside of the front panel. The aluminum tape member is provided with a plurality of openings. A data projector device can thus be obtained in which an excessive temperature rise at the front panel is prevented.
A cooling system for an electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes a housing and a fan. The housing has an outlet, a stopper fixed on the housing, and an opening next to the stopper. The fan generates a first air flow flowing to the outlet. The stopper retards a portion of the first air flow flowing to the outlet. A second air flow flows into the housing through the opening and mixes with the first air flow to cool the temperature of the first air flow.
A projector capable of efficiently cooling a source lamp with single air feed means is obtained. This projector comprises a source lamp, an optical component arranged on a position irradiated with light from the source lamp, air feed means for feeding air toward the source lamp, a first air guide member for guiding the air fed from the air feed means at least toward the optical component and a second air guide member for guiding the air guided toward the optical component to pass through the optical component toward the source lamp.
A projector device adapted to project an image-forming beam using a lamp as a light source. The lamp is installed within a rectangular parallelepipedal housing, and an exhaust fan is disposed to the rear of the lamp. The top wall of the housing surrounding the lamp is given an opening pattern asymmetric about the optical axis of the lamp by forming an air inlet opening in a position deviated from the optical axis toward a direction orthogonal to the axis for producing a swirling air current within the housing by operating the exhaust fan. The lamp can be effectively cooled with reduced quantities of air.
