The objective of the invention is a system, comprising an ISDN-network, having access through the intelligent network service switching point (SSP) to the services offered by the intelligent network service control point (SCP), a data network, in which at least one computer has a data network-address, and a gateway connecting the networks. The call can be connected to a telephone integrated to the computer, so that the data network-address used by the subscriber's computer and the subscriber's personal identifier are at first transferred to the gateway, which codes the data network-address. Thereafter the coded address, the gateway address and the subscriber's personal identifier are transmitted to the intelligent network and recorded in the database of the Service Data Point (SDP). The intelligent network has now the required data to create the speech connection between the mentioned subscriber and another subscriber.
A packet-based inteligent telecommunications network that adheres to a call control model currently used for circuit-switched intelligent networks. Messages defined in the GR-1129 specification are exchanged between a service switching point and service node intelligent peripheral within the facility information element of H.225 commands on a H.323 network.
A method of and an arrangement for providing telecommunications service to a user in a computer data network, such as the Internet. The data network comprises a telecommunications server supporting telecommunications service in the data network and between the data network and a telecommunications system. The telecommunications system and the data network connect by a gateway arranged for exchanging information and signalling data. The telecommunications service is provided following the steps of: accessing the telecommunications server by the user from a data network address; providing user identity data by the user to the telecommunications server; mapping the user identity data and the data network address by the telecommunications server; and providing telecommunications service to the user at the data network in accordance with the mapped user identity and data network address. Preferably, the user identity is associated with a Personal Number (PN) of a Universal Personal Telecommunication (UPT) service.
A system and method of service provisioning in an integrated telecommunications network having a packet-switched network portion (PSN) and a circuit-switched network (CSN) portion with a gateway disposed therebetween. A service node comprising a Service Control Point (SCP), a Service Data Point (SDP), or both, is provided with an interface operable with the PSN portion. A first entity (e.g., served entity) is capable of accessing the service node for the purpose of invoking a service. A return result from the service node is provided, based on the decision of what action is to be taken with respect to the service request, to the first entity which then determines how the action is to be effectuated. An indication is thereafter provided by the first entity to a second entity (e.g., re-routing entity) preferably using H.450.X messages. In response, the second entity (i.e., re-routing or switching entity) takes an appropriate service action based on the return result obtained from the service node. In a presently preferred exemplary embodiment, legacy service nodes built on the basis of WIN/IN service architecture are utilized for the provisioning of Value-Added Services (VAS) or Supplementary Services (SS) in VoIP networks operable with the H.450.X Recommendations.
A system and method of providing enhanced user-service interactivity between a user and a service in an integrated telecommunications network including an IP-based packet-switched (PSN) portion and a circuit-switched network (CSN) portion. The network supports IN-based service architecture for providing Value-Added Services (VAS) to the user who interacts with the network by operating an IP-compliant terminal. The network includes a switching node that governs call setup, call control, and service access and switching with respect to the user. A Service Control Point (SCP) is included in the network for the provisioning of VAS to the user. The SCP node includes a logic portion for determining whether an interaction between the user and an Intelligent Peripheral is to be effectuated when a service is invoked and an appropriate service trigger is transmitted from the switching node.
A system and method for the management of telecommunication system subscriber data in conjunction with at least two duplex telecommunication networks handling separate subscriber data. The inventive system includes means for linking the system, in a transparent manner with respect to telecommunication network architecture, to telecommunication network elements handling subscriber data, means for storing the subscriber data of different telecommunication networks in the same logical database, and means for exchanging subscriber data between the telecommunication network elements handling subscriber data and/or the subscriber database. The system may for example be used to implement a subscriber accessibility service between and operable across different networks.
