A shooting target includes: a pair of support members; a horizontal threaded shaft supported by the support members; and a spinning target positioned on, supported by, and rotatably engaged with the threaded shaft. The spinning target includes a threaded sleeve that translates along the threaded shaft as the sleeve rotates; a pair of opposing arms secured to the sleeve and extending in opposing directions; a pair of flattened target plates secured to the arms; and a pair of weights each secured to and slidable along the respective arm. The sliding weights insure that the spinning target comes to rest vertically. The threaded sleeve may be made sufficiently over-sized so as to enable disengaging of the sleeve and sliding of the sleeve along the threaded shaft. A deflector plate may be provided in front of the threaded shaft to protect it from projectile impacts.
Paintball targets including a battleship having an array of smaller targets pivotally mounted on a base that is shaped to resemble the shape of a ship's hull. The smaller targets are designed to swing back on a hinge to display an image of fire and destruction, upon the impact of a paintball projectile on the target's face, thus visually providing the user with the satisfaction of knowing that he/she has destroyed the intended target. A vortex drive track is also disclosed having multiple spinning targets each carried on a corresponding cord that is suspended at a slight angle. When a target is hit by a paintball projectile it spins on its cord. This vertical rotation, along with the downward slope of the cord, and the assistance of gravity will force the target to progress down the cord.
A vertical rotary shooting target having a stand with a horizontally extending axial which supports a rotary target structure. The vertical rotary target structure includes a hub rotatably mounted on the axial, a pair of target impact plates, and a support structure connecting the impact plates radially outwardly on diametrically opposed sides of the said hub and in horizontally spaced relation for enhanced shooting difficulty. Alternative embodiments of impact plate support structures are disclosed which minimize potentially harmful and damaging splashback of bullets striking the impact plates.
A target system includes a plurality of targets mounted on a center support so that the targets rotate between opposing sides of the center support. Preferably, the targets rotate about an axis which is between 5 and 30 degrees less than vertical, and have faces which are disposed at an angle between 5 and 30 degrees less than vertical.

A moving shooting target system for providing a first stationary target that triggers a second moving target when stricken with a bullet. The moving shooting target system includes a frame with a shooting opening and a target reservoir, a first target attached to a support member, and a stopper member attached to the support member. The stopper member releases at least one second target from the target reservoir when the first target is stricken by a bullet. The released second target rolls along and through the shooting opening where a shooter is able to shoot the released second target.
