Abstract
The invention concerns an elastic hinge for specticles frame comprising two fixed (5) and mobile (7) hinge elements, articulated about an axis of rotation (R) by a pivoting head (7A) of one (7) of the elements inserted in a pivoting head (5A) of the other element (5) and by a link (9) housed in succession in an inner passage (5D, 7D) of the two elements emerging into the pivoting heads. The invention is characterized in that each pivoting head (5A, 7A) has at the opening of the passage (5D, 7D) a stop member (B1, B2) on the outer side of the frame forming by the matching shape of one (B1) with the other (B2) a pivoting interface about a second axis of rotation (R'), the link (9) being arranged between the two axes of rotation (R, R') when the bow is in a normal opening position. The hinge has two stable closing and opening positions as well as an additional unstable opening position.

6916093 - Elastic hinge having a radial stop against excessive opening - Owned by Comotec (Les Rousses,FR)

An elastic hinge (40), in particular for spectacle frames, has first and second hinge elements (50, 60) rotatably mounted around a pivot (45), a cam profile (53) integral with the first hinge element, a bearing piece (65) movably mounted in the second hinge element along an elastic translation axis. The bearing piece has a first contact area co-operating with the cam profile to give the hinge at least one stable position, and provides a lock for the hinge when a position of excessive opening is reached. The lock includes a protrusion (53-4) of the cam profile arranged for co-operating with a second contact area (65-2) of the bearing piece by exerting, essentially on the bearing piece, a force substantially perpendicular to the translation axis thereof.

6721991 - Elastic hinge with inclined plane eyelet for automatic closing of spectacle temples - Owned by D.O.T. S.a.s. di Dioguardi Franco & C. (Calalzo di Cadore,IT)

The present invention concerns a hinge for the hinging of spectacle temples, which allows the automatic closing of the temples on the same front of spectacle which has been removed from the head or which features one or both temples in open or wide-open position. A hinging element is provided attached to the endpiece of the front, which is cam-shaped with an eccentric profile progressively increasing from its internal position to its external position and on which a follower runs. The follower is guided in an axial hole 23 in the temple 20 to be hinged and together with an elastic medium which acts axially with the hinge pin while the follower works on an inclined plane produced by the shape of the cam to help the automatic return of the temple 20 in the closing phase.

7055953 - Hinge for spectacles

The hinge is for use on spectacles of the type comprising a front frame for carrying lenses and a pair of temples. The hinge comprises a first attachment device for attaching the hinge to a corresponding one of the temples, a second attachment device for attaching the hinge to the frame, a rigid intermediate portion, a first flexible resilient portion carrying the first attachment device and attached to the rigid intermediate portion, and a second flexible resilient portion carrying the second attachment device and attached to the rigid intermediate portion opposite the first resilient portion.
