Abstract
In an engine generator unit, an engine is connected with an outer-rotor/magnet type generator that has a cantilevered outer rotor functioning also as a substitute for an engine fly wheel. Cooling fan device is attached to the outer rotor. The generator and cooling fan device are covered with a fain cover that is made of die-cast aluminum alloy. The fan cover has, at its one end remote from the engine, a cooling-air inlet portion for introducing cooling air from the outside via the cooling fan device, and a recoil starter is attached to the cooling-air inlet portion. Also, the fan cover is connected at its other end to the engine with a gap formed therebetween for blowing the cooling air onto an outer peripheral surface of the engine. Supporting leg members are secured to the fan cover and engine, and these leg members are also mounted to a framework via shock-absorbing members.

7478617 - Hand-free starter for power generator

A power generator includes a supporting frame, a generator supported by the supporting frame, and an engine mechanism including an engine driving the generator and a recoil starter for starting the engine via starter cable. The power generator further includes a hand-free starter arrangement which includes a foot pedal movably supported by the supporting frame and a transmission unit coupling a pulling end of the starter cable with the foot pedal to transmit the downward stepping force of the foot pedal to a pulling force of the starter cable. A downward displacement of the foot pedal is corresponding to an operation length of the starter cable to start the engine such that when the foot pedal is depressed, the starter cable is pulled with the operation length to start the engine in a hand-free manner.

6608393 - Portable DC power generator with constant voltage

An apparatus for generating a constant source of electrical power in remote locations in the field for use while camping or hunting, in vehicles, on water craft, or for providing power during emergencies due to power failures, accidents, storms, or natural catastrophies. A safely and efficiently operating power generator that makes a minimal intrusion upon the environment is provided comprising a low horsepower gasoline-powered engine which drives a permanent magnet 12-volt AC/DC generator having a built-in electronic governor circuit for sustaining a constant DC output. Constructed with a flexible coupling between the gasoline-powered engine and the generator, and a suitably sized resonator and inherent governor circuit, the invention affords a constant output and quiet operation for use in vehicles, on water craft, and in the field to provide electricity for illumination or for operating common 12-volt appliances.

6868832 - Electronic controlled fuel injection apparatus of internal combustion engine - Owned by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo,JP)

The invention intends to downsize a general-purpose engine generator and make operability thereof easy. A backup battery (233) is provided for the generator (22). The battery supplies electricity to an electronic controlled device such as a fuel pump for starting the engine. When the engine (1) carries out a rating operation, electricity is supplied from the generator (22). When the engine speed in a low speed range, only a pump (15) is driven. When the engine speed is exceeds the low speed range, the pump (15) is stopped, and an injectors, (10) and (27) are driven to be prevented from lapping over each other. When the engine speed reaches a high-speed range, the pump (15) is again driven. Electricity consumption at a time of starting is restricted by driving the electronic controlled devices at different timings until the engine (1) operation becomes self-sustaining.

7073475 - Fluid supply mechanism for power generator - Owned by Yamaha Hatsudoki Kabushiki Kaisha (Shizuoka-ken,JP)

A power generator unit incorporates a generator driven by an engine. The engine has a fuel tank. A fuel petcock is connected through fuel hoses between the fuel tank and the engine. An insulating cover surrounds the generator, the engine and the fuel tank. A control panel is positioned on the insulating cover. A fuel control lever is pivotally mounted on the control panel. The fuel control lever is connected to the fuel petcock through a flexible transmitter to open and close the fuel petcock.

7559297 - Portable Engine

A portable engine, comprising an engine casing, an air deflector cover, a fan and an exhaust pipe; a left upper baffle plate and a right upper baffle plate at the upper part of the engine constitute two left and right upper air ducts together with a cylinder head cover and the engine casing; a left lower baffle plate and a right lower baffle plate at the lower part of the engine constitute two left and right lower air ducts together with the engine casing; and a base plate of the engine and the engine casing constitute a bottom air duct. The portable engine can specifically cool each part through controlling air intake of each air duct, thus attaining better cooling effect for the engine.
