An exercise device comprising a pneumatic hand pump with a valve in the exhaust port. The hand pump is pivotally attached to a folding metal chair or, in an alternate embodiment, to an elongated step board for easy use and storage and provides exercise and muscle toning when pumped against a strong force caused by a nearly closed valve in the exhaust port.
An exercise device for strengthening the abdominal muscles and the arm muscles of a user, comprising a T-shaped, tension loaded press bar that selectively telescopes within an elongated shaft when pressed by the hands of the user. The press bar is mechanically linked to the shaft by a stretchable band having an equilibrium relaxed conformation and also having a stretched conformation. When the user presses down upon the press bar, this causes the press bar to substantially retract into the shaft and simultaneously causes the rubber band to be stretched from its relaxed conformation, thereby simultaneously exercising the muscles of the user. The exercise device may be selectively folded upon three hinges, thereby providing an exercise device that is easily carried, shipped, and stored.
Disclosed is an exercise device that includes a base that has at least one receptacle and further includes a resistance member that is adapted to rest in the at least one receptacle. The base may include a plurality of receptacles so as to provide a number of positions that the resistance member may rest in so as to allow the user to perform a variety of exercises and motions with the exercise device. The resistance member may be adjustable to provide more than one level of resistance.
A stretching machine includes a bench having at least one base members. A cam is coupled to the base member or one of the base members, if there is more than one. A stretching arm is coupled to the cam at one end and has an extremity attachment device at its other end. An actuator is coupled to at least one of the base members and is coupled to the cam. The actuator enables movement of the cam and the movement of the cam enables movement of the stretching arm. There is a control mechanism for controlling the actuator.
An exercise machine includes: a bench for a user to lie upon; an actuator arm comprising a first end connected to the bench and a second end comprising a foot attachment for attaching to a human foot; the actuator arm comprising an actuator for moving the actuator arm such that a user's leg is moved into a stretching position; and a user control for causing the actuator to actuate.
