Novel compounds of formula (I) wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen; R.sub.2 represents hydroxy, fluoro, or an oxo group; R.sub.3 represents hydrogen; R.sub.4 represents hydrogen; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, and the stereoisomers thereof, with the exception of the racemate of (3-amino-2-hydroxypropyl)sulphinic acid. The compounds are useful in therapy, especially for the treatment of reflux disease.
