The invention relates to a watch housing comprising a body made in two parts (2, 3), connected one to the other. The one of the two parts (2) guarantees the function of a watch whilst the second part (3), connected to the bracelet, comprises means for attachment of an interchangeable module (M). Said module (M) is extended by an elastic tongue (20) and security means are provided to ensure that the tongue (20) is supported on the first part (2) whilst subjecting the above to a permanent force maintaining the same in the open position.

7406003 - Multifunctional timepiece module with application specific printed circuit boards - Owned by Timex Group B.V. (NL)

An electronic device that includes functionality to perform at least two functions, a first of which may be timekeeping and the other of which is at least a function other than the first function. The electronic device comprises a multilayered module comprising a frame having a frame surface; at least two physically separable printed circuit boards, the first of which includes means related to at least the timekeeping and the second of which includes means related to at least the function other than timekeeping, wherein the first printed circuit board is intermediate the frame surface and the second printed circuit board; a battery compartment dimensioned for receiving a battery, wherein the battery compartment is asymmetrically positioned within the module thus creating a region above the first printed circuit board and proximate the battery compartment; and wherein the second printed circuit board is securable within the module and in the region; wherein the functionality of the electronic device can be changed and/or modified by a removal of the second printed circuit board and a replacement with another printed circuit board having means at least in part different from and/or in addition to the means of the second printed circuit board; whereby the first printed circuit board need not be removed to provide for such additional and/or different functionality provided by the replacement printed circuit board.

6944098 - Timepiece including two cases able to pivot with respect to each other - Owned by Montres Breguet SA (CH)

The timepiece comprises a body forming a case inside which is accommodated a clockwork-movement. This body comprises an upper case (1), which has a front face having first display means (16), and a lower case (2), which has a front face having second display means (26). One of the cases is mounted pivoting on the other about a pivoting axis (X) substantially perpendicular to the general plane of the cases and can occupy a closed position, in which the upper case is superposed on the lower case, and an open position, in which the upper case has pivoted sideways and lets the second display means (26) be seen. The clockwork-movement comprises respective portions (100, 200), accommodated in the upper and lower cases to drive the first and second display means, and a drive mechanism (5) ensuring a kinematic link between the two portions of the clockwork-movement. This kinematic link is interrupted when the cases are put in the open position.

7025496 - Apparatus for setting gems and providing hidden compartments in a timepiece

The present invention is directed toward a timepiece, such as a watch, having a protective cover with a gem set therein. The protective cover may be crystal, plastic or any other transparent and durable material. The protective cover has an aperture having concentric cuts. The setting is seated in the aperture and secured to the protective cover. The setting is configured to be of a similar size and shape as the aperture so that it may be securely affixed to the protective cover. A gasket may be inserted between the setting and the aperture to create a watertight seal in the watch cover. The timepiece may also have a hinged, hidden compartment on the backside of the watch frame. Engravings may be made in the hidden compartment, and small, thin objects may be stored therein.
