Generation of output or reports on information contained in a data source which may be any of two or more types of source data, in a standardized or uniform manner is provided. A plurality of drivers are provided specific to different types of source data which include programming for identifying structural or other characteristics of the various data sources, e.g. for use in defining a new database. Preferably the new database is configured to permit highly flexible and/or rapid output or reporting or is otherwise optimized for reporting purposes. In one embodiment, the present invention includes conversion of one or more data sources into one or more uniform databases, preferably generating one or more key categories for organizing the data, optionally generating category groupings or rollups and additional data or optional references. In one embodiment, one or more databases are created which have a degree of uniformity of structure, even though they may be based on two or more different data sources which may have very different structures. The different data sources are automatically analyzed and this analysis can be used to identify and/or create categories of data for use in organizing the database.

An objective of the present invention is to carry out setting efficiently both a database management system and a storage subsystem. In an information processing system having computers 1, 2 and the storage subsystem 3, the following processes are executed. A system definition program 5 in the computer 1 generates based on the database design information, database definition information defining a structure of plural tables constituting the database and storage location volume of data of the plural tables, and volume definition information defining a condition for determining a volume configuration. A volume definition program 6 in the storage subsystem 3 determines based on the volume definition information from the management server 1, a storage device configuring the volume out of plural storage devices 36a . . . 36p. A database management system program 9 in the computer 2 stores the data of each table in the volume of the storage subsystem 3, based on the definition information from the management server 1, and accesses the volume in response to a request from outside.
Delivering document fragments from a web server to a server-deployed client application. The invention includes a data structure of a request for data including a namespace field, an event handler field, and a parameter field. A first process sends a populated data structure to a second process. The second process executes logic maintained by the second process and identified in the populated data structure to generate result data. The second process sends the result data to the first process for display to a user or other processing by the first process.
The invention provides a file classification management system and method used in operating systems for managing the files by categories. Each of the physically stored files is mapped into one or more logical categories based on the contents of the file. And a desktop files resource manager presents the files by categories organized in a tree structure such that the user can directly find desired files via categories by using the present invention. The invention significantly improves the function of the file system and makes the file management interface more friendly.
Computer-based methods and systems for managing and tracking account reconciliation are described. The method includes accessing an account reconciliation system after logging onto the system, receiving account information from a centralized database, and submitting accounting entries to balance the account. A new account variance is then calculated and reported to a user based on pre-established criteria. In another aspect, a system for practicing the account reconciliation method is provided. The system includes at least one computer and server configured to read, receive, store input account information and compute account variances based on received information.
A method and system for flexibly transferring data from one or more data sources to one or more data destinations within an information network where each of the one or more data sources have data in a particular source format and each of the one or more data destinations have data in the same or another particular destination format using a parameter database that includes parameters to control the transfer of data, a scheduler that initiates the transfer of data, and a data loader in communications with the parameter database and scheduler that, upon initiation by the scheduler, extracts data from the one or more data sources, manipulates the extracted source data into one or more destination formats associated with the one or more data destinations, and inserts the data into one or more data destinations according to the parameters within the parameter database.
