Abstract
At least one branched chamber extends and diverges from a side wall of a pouch body. The branched chamber has an optional pouring spout at its distal end to permit the removal of the contents of the pouch. A readily unsealable seal member is optionally included to partition the branched chamber from the pouch body, thus providing a pouch wherein two or more different materials are mixed prior to removal from the pouch. A pouch having this structure provides excellent rupture protection of the readily unsealable seal member caused from, for example, handling, shipping, or dropping of the pouch.

The package generally includes at least one front and back panel joined at least partially together to define an interior accessible through an access opening. The interior is capable of storing and dispensing product and other objects or materials. Further, at least one web member can be joined to each of the front and back panel portions respectively to form at least two generally parallel chambers and/or channels that extend generally along at least a portion of the access opening. In one embodiment, each of the chambers includes a reservoir or storage portion and a closure portion in fluid communication such that either the reservoir portion or the closure portion are generally inflated or expanded to correspondingly close or open the access opening.

7419322 - Fluid dispensing device with metered delivery - Owned by Poly-D LLC (Torrington, CT)

The fluid dispensing device (10) includes a container (20) with an interior fluid storage region (22) therein. A flexible metering housing (26) is disposed in fluid communication with the fluid storage region (22) a first one-way valve (30) disposed between the container (20) and the flexible metering housing (26). One way flow from the interior fluid storage region (22) of the container (20) fills the predetermined volume of the metering chamber (32) with fluid by vacuum action when a button (36) is depressed and then released. A second valve (40) is in fluid communication with the metering housing (26) and permits one-way fluid flow from the metering chamber (32) to the exterior outer region of the container (20) when the metering housing (26) is depressed again. Each time the metering housing (26) is depressed a substantially equal volume of fluid (24) is dispensed from the container (20). An additional foam layer (12) on the outside of container (20) facilitates dispersion and delivery of the fluid (24).

7275640 - Packaging for imparting anti-microbial properties to a medical device - Owned by Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc. (Maple Grove, MN)

Packaging for medical devices that impart anti-microbial properties to the surfaces of a medical device is disclosed. In one embodiment, a first compartment stores a medical device and a second compartment stores an anti-microbial agent. When the medical device is ready to be used, the anti-microbial agent from the second compartment flows into the first compartment to impart anti-microbial properties to the surface of the medical device. In another embodiment, components of the package are treated with an anti-microbial agent, which are then transferred or imparted to the surfaces of a medical device stored within the package.
