A head includes a head chip, having first and second external connection electrodes, for reading a signal from a storage medium and writing a signal on the storage medium, a substrate having the head chip mounted thereon, a hot-side conductor path and a ground-side conductor path each formed on the surface of the substrate and electrically connected to the corresponding external connection electrodes of the head chip, and a chip varistor, mounted on the substrate, having first, second, and third terminal electrodes, the third terminal electrode being connected to the ground. In the head, the hot-side conductor path is divided, and the corresponding conductor parts of ends of the divided hot-side conductor paths are electrically connected to the first and the second terminal electrodes, and the ground-side conductor path is electrically connected to the third terminal electrode of the chip varistor.
A slider for use in a magnetic disk drive includes read pads for connecting to a flexible circuit that couples to a pre-amplifier circuit, a transducer, and a protector connected to the transducer and the read pads to protect the transducer against damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD). Examples of transducers that may be used include a giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor and a tunneling magnetoresistive (TMR) sensor.
The invention relates to a circuit comprising an antenna input (1), a signal input (2) and a signal output (3), and a switching unit (4), wherein the antenna input (1) is connected to a first protection device (6) against electrostatic discharges, said first protection device (6) being a band-pass filter in a .pi.-configuration. The advantage of the first protection device (6) is that it eliminates the need for a band-pass filter in the front end module, when used in a mobile telephone. Furthermore, the band-pass filter has a very good filtering characteristic, enabling ESD-related disturbances to be effectively suppressed. The invention also relates to a switching module and to the use of the same.
A circuit array includes an antenna input, a signal input, a signal output, and a switch unit. The switch unit connects the antenna to either the signal input or the signal output. The antenna input is connected to a first productive device. The first protective device is a band-pass filter in a T configuration.
