Abstract
A suspension, includes a load-carrying spring having one end indirectly supported via a spring washer by a component of a vehicle body of a motor vehicle and another end indirectly supported via a second spring washer by a wheel support assembly of the motor vehicle. Disposed at the one end of the load-carrying spring is a cup-shaped receptacle, and at the other end an abutment which has a stop surface. A slave spring is arranged in coaxial relationship to the load-carrying spring and has one end received in the receptacle and another end intended for engagement with the stop surface of the abutment. The receptacle and/or the abutment has a radially outwardly extending support ring for at least partially engaging behind the respective one of the spring washers at a side distal to the load-carrying spring to form a pre-fabricated unitary structure with the load-carrying spring.

7530587 - Vehicle suspension system - Owned by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo,JP)

A vehicle suspension system connects a swing member to a vehicle body. The vehicle suspension system includes a bump stopper, which is provided on one of the swing member and the vehicle body and includes an axis, a substantially cylindrical tip end which abuts an abutment surface provided on the other one of the swing member and the vehicle body, and an apex formed at the tip end. Abutment is initiated, in a circumferential direction of the tip end, in a state wherein the abutment surface inclines relative to the axis of the bump stopper. The apex at the tip end of the bump stopper first abuts the abutment surface and is located at an intermediate portion of the bump stopper in a direction of a wall thickness (t) of the bump stopper. A plurality of projections may also be formed on the tip end of the bump stopper.

7387307 - Suspension system - Owned by Mazda Motor Corporation (Hiroshima,JP)

A suspension system includes a lower arm having an I-shaped cross section. A coil spring seat portion is formed on the lower arm for supporting a coil spring. A center of stiffness of the lower arm is so located with respect to a centerline of load applied to the lower arm that the lower arm bends upward when a compressive force is applied thereto.

7416175 - Spring seat assembly - Owned by BASF Corporation (Florham Park, NJ)

A spring seat assembly for a suspension system of a vehicle utilizing a coil spring. The spring seat assembly includes a first spring seat retainer having a central axis. The first spring seat retainer includes a flange and a pocket portion extending from the flange toward a distal end. The flange includes a first side and a second side extending radially from the central axis in a spaced and parallel relationship. The flange includes a plurality of ribs that extend radially relative to the central axis. The ribs project axially from the first side and the second side of the flange and are spaced angularly from one another. The ribs on the first side are angularly offset from the ribs on the second side for dampening vibration and absorbing noise upon a compression of the coil spring.

7338040 - High retention strength jounce bumper assembly - Owned by Freudenberg-Nok General Partnership (Plymouth, MI)

A jounce bumper assembly is provided including a cup-shaped member adapted to be mounted to a vehicle. A spacer formed of an appropriate engineered material is mounted within the cup-shaped member and a jounce bumper is mounted to the spacer. The cup-shaped member includes retaining tabs which engage a shoulder of the jounce bumper for retaining the jounce bumper in the cup-shaped member.
