Abstract
An automated cleaning system, where dairy cows pass through a foot bath region. The foot bath is periodically changed by implementing an agitation phase where high velocity water jets agitate the waste material in the foot bath and causes these to be discharged, followed by a drain phase where the liquid flows out an outlet. Then, a flushing phase removes the further debris, with the foot bath then being refilled with water and chemical disinfecting liquid for a subsequent cycle where another group of cows would pass through the foot bath region.

7198007 - Method and device for cleaning and caring for dogs, particularly dog paws

In order to clean dog paws, the dog is placed on a perforated intermediate bottom located inside a tub-like basin, and the basin is filled with water to a level higher than the intermediate bottom until the paws are submerged. Air is injected, preferably in a lateral and/or downward manner, out of a first branch of an air supply system into the water by a blower, said branch being located underneath the intermediate bottom. The air is distributed in the water and the pressure thereof is sufficient for removing dirt adhering to the paws by bubbling and without spraying. After a cleaning phase, the pressure of the compressed air is maintained in the first branch, as long as it is immersed in the water, at a level sufficient for preventing dirt from entering the air outflow openings. During a drying phase, a second branch of the air supply system is supplied with air, said second branch being provided with at least one outlet opening for drying air.

7500488 - Apparatus for cleaning soil from footwear

An apparatus for removing soil from a shoe, boot or other article of footwear. The apparatus employs a jet of water or other fluid to dislodge and break up the soil. The spray nozzle is housed within a tubular plunger having a discharge opening in its upper end. The plunger is operatively connected to the nozzle, so that stepping on the plunger actuates a flow of water therethrough. The nozzle includes a return spring that biases the valve back to the closed position when the plunger is released. The stream of water is directed through the opening against the surface of the shoe or other article of footwear. The upper end of the plunger is surrounded by a layer of flow-disbursing material that prevents the escape of spray from beneath the article of footwear. The layer of flow-disbursing material may be formed by a layer of coarse, open-cell foam material or by a multiplicity of small, resiliently flexible fingers.
