A plurality of roadside wireless devices are provided on a roadside of an entry of a toll area. A first roadside wireless device, which communicates with a vehicle-mounted device over wireless communication, sends unique information obtained from the vehicle-mounted device to a second roadside wireless device located, downstream to the first roadside wireless device, along a moving direction of the vehicle. The second roadside wireless device checks if unique information on the vehicle-mounted device obtained from the vehicle-mounted device matches the unique information on vehicle-mounted device notified from the first roadside wireless device to judge if the moving direction is a direction of entry into a toll area and charges the vehicle-mounted device for toll only when it is judged that the moving direction is the direction of entry into the toll area.
A technique to provide an information-sharing system and the like is disclosed. According to this technique, there are provided an on-board information terminal to transmit one or more types of information among a vehicle information relating to user's own vehicle and on-board program information to acquire shared information, an area information acquiring system for acquiring area information, and an information-sharing server for calculating time function existing quantity based on time function according to one or more types of information among vehicle information and area information, calculates time function transmission quantity based on time function including the calculated time function existing quantity, arranges the calculated time function existing quantity and the time function transmission quantity to a corresponding position on a map, attaches the map information to the on-board program information, and transmits it to the on-board information terminal.
A communicating system is disclosed. The communicating system has a base station and a plurality of mobile stations that radio-communicate through an uplink channel and a downlink channel with frames each of which is composed of a plurality of time divided slots, each of the frames of the uplink channel and the downlink channel being transmitted in accordance with OFDM transmitting system. An OFDM sub carrier used in the OFDM transmitting system is divided in accordance with a predetermined diving method, each of the frames of the uplink channel or downlink channel being allocated to the divided portions of the OFDM sub carrier, a plurality of frames of the uplink channel or downlink channel being radio-communicated between one base station and a plurality of mobile stations.
A communication system is disclosed including a backbone network, a moving vehicle further including a vehicle selection unit, an array of base stations connected to the backbone network, and a station selection unit provided to the array of base stations. The moving vehicle transmits upstream data to the array of base stations using an upstream signal frequency uniquely allocated to the moving vehicle, the upstream data being addressed to the backbone network. The station selection unit, if the upstream data is received redundantly, discards the redundantly-received upstream data, and transfers the upstream data to the backbone network. The array of base stations transmits downstream data received from the backbone network to the moving vehicle using a downstream signal frequency common to the array of base stations. The vehicle selection unit selects the downstream data addressed to the moving vehicle.
A wireless type prepaid IC card system enhances the convenience of users and assures the safe payment of tolls by vehicles including bikes when introduced for toll roads. This toll collecting system is composed of: a card processor that is arranged in a booth for the toll collection process and has an antenna unit for executing the card process through the wireless communication with IC cards, antenna units arranged at the left and right roadsides of the booth for executing the card process through the wireless communication with IC cards, a vehicle class discriminator for discriminating classes of vehicles entering into a traffic lane, and a traffic lane controller that selects an antenna unit to perform the card process according to a discriminated vehicle class and controls the card process.
A system, method, and computer readable medium for determining a toll amount comprises determining a capture rate of transports at a toll location and determining the toll amount based on the capture rate.
