In one embodiment the present invention provides a method for identity verification comprising the steps of: (a) comparing at least one first spoken voice print of a user speaking at least one piece of personal data against a first stored voice print of the user speaking said at least one piece of personal data; (b) comparing at least one second spoken voice print of the user speaking at least one piece of travel data against a second stored voice print of the user speaking said piece of travel data; and (c) determining if the user is a given individual based the results of step (a) and step (b). In other embodiments, the present invention provides a method for controlling the use of an object or service comprising the steps of: (a) comparing at least one first spoken voice print of a user speaking at least one piece of personal data against a first stored voice print of the user speaking said at least one piece of personal data; (b) comparing at least one second spoken voice print of the user speaking at least one piece of object identification data or service identification data against a second stored voice print of the user speaking said piece of object identification data; and (c) determining if the user is allowed to use said object or service based on the results of steps (a) and (b).
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for detecting an intrusion to a communications network. One embodiment describes a peripheral card having a communications portion and a processor. The communications portion has only a capability for receiving data packets via the communications network. The communications portion lacks capability of transmitting the data packets via the communications network. The processor manages the communications portion, and the communications portion reduces intrusion of the communications network.
A system and method for monitoring individuals using voice print matching to match monitored speech with stored voice prints is disclosed. Voice prints of individuals are obtained and stored in a central repository for use by authorized agencies or other entity that monitor voice communications. The digitized voice prints may be used to identify the speakers being monitored. If the conversation being monitored causes the monitor, based on their predetermined alert criteria, to suspect the speakers of illegal activity, such as, for example, terrorism, or otherwise cause the monitor to seek additional information about the speakers, the monitor may access information associated with the voice print and retrieve the information associated with those individuals so that this information may be passed along to the appropriate agency or organization for further action.
In a telephone system which includes a main device and a telephone set connected to the main device and which further includes a portable terminal having a display unit, the portable terminal further has an interface portion for interfacing the display unit with the main device to present, as an operation screen, an image of the telephone set on a web page displayed on the display unit and to enable to use a function of the telephone set on the portable terminal by an operation on the operation screen displayed on the display unit. Preferably, the interface portion has an IP (Internet Protocol) communication network for use in connecting the portable terminal to the main device. The portable terminal is, typically, a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant).
A verification system for obtaining, storing and providing access to information regarding a commitment or position of an individual or entity. In one embodiment the verification system comprises an interactive voice response system or computer program interface capable of obtaining and recording information regarding any of a number of commitments from an individual or entity, such as a commitment to change long distance telephone service providers. The verification system comprises a voice response unit configured to query pertinent information from an individual and record the responses to the queries in a digital format. Upon completion of a successful session, the voice response unit forwards the recorded responses confirming consent, to a storage device, such as a computer server. As desired, the recorded responses can be retrieved from the server by telephone or computer for verification of the consent, commitment, or position of the individual or entity.
A computer based verification retrieval system comprises a communication network to facilitate communication between a first computer and a data access computer, a data access computer connected to said communication network, said data access computer configured to serve as an interface for said first computer and transmit said verification over said communication network to said first computer, and a data storage computer in communication with said data access computer, said data storage computer configured to store said verification and provide said verification to said data access computer upon request.
