A cleaner is provided which includes an electric dirt collection mechanism with an electrically powered dirt collection action and a wiping cleaning mechanism with a wiping cleaning action utilizing a cleaning sheet provided on the bottom surface of the main body of the cleaner which moves across the floor, wherein the electric dirt collection mechanism is switched on and off using a switch, and the wiping cleaning mechanism can be attached to, or detached from, the main body.
A vacuum head assembly is disclosed which includes a vacuum head detachably connected to a secondary head, which is designed to carry an electrostatic cloth. The secondary head assumes a horizontal position behind the vacuum head so that the scoop of the vacuum head moves across the surface to be cleaned first followed by the secondary head, equipped with the electrostatic cloth. The cloth thus engages the floor after the scoop of the vacuum head. The secondary head carrying the electrostatic cloth may be easily connected to and disconnected from the vacuum head thereby rendering the vacuum head suitable for both hard and soft (i.e., carpeted) surfaces.
An electric vacuum cleaner includes a nozzle assembly 5 including: a base member 6; a movable member 7 inversely rotatably attached to the base member 6 and having one surface formed with a suction opening 20; and a covering member 8 movably attached to the base member 6. Holding members 22 for holding a cleaning sheet 21 are formed on the other surface of the movable member 7. When the one surface of the movable member 7 faces a floor surface and the other surface thereof is covered by the covering member 8, the electric vacuum cleaner can pick up filth through the suction opening 20. When the movable member 7 is rotated inversely so that the cleaning sheet 21 faces the floor surface, the electric vacuum cleaner can catch the filth by the cleaning sheet 21 and pick up the relatively large filth via a communicating path 34 formed in between the movable member 7 and the covering member 8, and the suction opening 20 connected to the communicating path 34.
The claimed invention provides an apparatus for use with a vacuum cleaner nozzle having an intake opening with a flow area that receives a flow of working air. The apparatus comprises a cleaning pad with a structure that permits the working air to pass through the pad. The cleaning pad is configured to be installed over the intake opening in a position extending across the flow area.
