An apparatus for building muscle memory to develop a more rapid baseball swing and avoid casting of the hands and bat during the swing. Such apparatus includes a first attachment member connectable to an upper arm and a second attachment member connectable to an opposing forearm interposed by an elongated tether to be aligned along a forearm upon initially entering into a hitter's stance. A method for using such apparatus is also disclosed herein.
This is a continuation application of U.S. Ser. No. 10/670,921, now U.S. Pat. No. 6,773,366, entitled Baseball Swing Training Apparatus and Method of Using Same, filed on Sep. 25, 2003, which is in turn a divisional of U.S. Ser. No. 09/909,355, also entitled Baseball Swing Training Apparatus and Method of Using Same, filed on Jul. 18, 2001, now abandoned, which are both incorporated herein by reference in their entireties.
A training device to improve tennis skills. The device includes wristbands for encircling each wrist of a user and a tension device with an umbilical attached to it and to the wristbands. The umbilical is under constant tension during use of the training device to encourage the movement of a user's hands in unison in carrying out a tennis stroke.
A golf swing training apparatus is disclosed. The invention includes a harness for use in connection with a bifurcated training apparatus having two operative elements, including an upper grip portion and a lower slide portion, the portions configured to be cooperatively engaged both with a golf club and each other in a defined cooperative manner. When assembled in the preferred truncated frustoconical structure, the lower slide portion is axially slidable along a length of golf club handle to assist the golfer to learn a desired swing position. An upper grip portion is secured about the golf club handle, whereby when the upper grip portion is assembled to the club handle and shaft, and a plurality of fingers of the golfer's left hand overlays a portion of the upper grip portion, those two to three fingers of the left hand substantially engaging and gripping upper grip portion during all stages of the golf swing, whereby the upper grip portion and lower slide portion are brought into full engaged position at about the point of contact of the golf club and the golf ball.
An animal training apparatus is comprised of a leash connector attached to a chest portion of a harness. The harness is arranged to prevent the leash connector from shifting to the back of the animal. The harness is preferably comprised of a chest strap for positioning across the chest of the animal between the tops of the front legs, a withers strap for positioning across the withers of the animal behind the neck and between the shoulders, and a girth strap for positioning across the girth of the animal behind the front legs on the underside. The leash connector is attached to an intermediate position on the chest strap for pulling on the chest portion of the harness. The animal is prevented by the rotational force from pulling further.
