Techniques to support various operations (e.g., drag-and-drop, stretch) and data manipulation in a browser environment, e.g., to allow data for an object located in one part of a document (e.g., a webpage) to be associated with another object located in another part of the document. In one design, a document includes at least one applet for at least one display window. Each applet includes at least one browser object representative of an entity for an end application. Each browser object is associated with a respective set of one or more scripts used to facilitate a set of one or more operations (e.g., drag-and-drop, stretch) permitted for the browser object. A data transfer object is generated upon initiation of a selected operation and includes data associated with a source (browser) object. The data transfer object may thereafter be operated on by various target (browser) object to effectuate the selected operation.
Method and system for maintaining a persistent photo tray on a website are disclosed. The method includes displaying a photo tray in a browser window for storing one or more thumbnail images, maintaining a unique identifier for each of the one or more thumbnail images, tracking the unique identifier of each thumbnail image using a corresponding cookie, monitoring the one or more thumbnail images in the photo tray, and updating the corresponding cookie in response to changes to the thumbnail images in the photo tray.
An interactive drill down tool having a first level of information defining the steps necessary to complete an objective. A second level of information defines interrelationships between work positions. A third level of information defines what each work position must accomplish. The first, second, and third levels are organized such that the second level is accessible from the first level and the third level is accessible from the second level.
Information embedded in a displayed object is transferred from one browser window to another. Each of the browser windows display a Web page. The object is displayed on one of the Web pages and, by "dragging" and "dropping" the embedded information to the other Web page, a function is performed on the embedded information, such as one that converts text associated with the embedded information into an audible output. A user who has difficulty reading text displayed on a Web page can click on an image embedded in the text, or drag and drop the information embedded in the displayed image to another Web page used to perform the conversion function.

A method and system for Java Gantt/bar chart rendering includes an extractor to receive project data, a table generator to generate a project table suitable for representing the project data, and a dynamic page component to generate a Gantt chart image utilizing the project table. The system further includes a cell rendering component to render at least one cell of the project table by identifying a suitable graphical image and by applying the graphical image to the cell.
