The invention concerns a dyeing composition for keratinous fibres, in particular human keratinous fibres and more particularly hair, comprising a dicationic diazo dye of formula (I), as well as the dyeing composition using same. The invention also concerns the novel compounds of formula (I).
A subject-matter of the present invention is the use, in the direct dyeing of keratinous fibers, of at least one direct dye and of a specific cationic hydrotropic agent of formula: ##STR00001## in which X represents CH or N.sup.+R.sub.6 with R.sub.6 representing a C.sub.1-C.sub.10 alkyl, R.sub.1 represents either a hydrogen or a C.sub.1-C.sub.10 alkyl, if X represents N.sup.+R.sub.6, or (CH.sub.2).sub.nN.sup.+R.sub.3R.sub.4R.sub.5 with R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5, which are identical or different, representing a C.sub.1-C.sub.10 alkyl and n representing an integer between 0 and 12, if X represents CH; R.sub.2 represents a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl; p has a value 0 or 1; the electrical neutrality of the compound being provided by a cosmetically acceptable anion or a mixture of cosmetically acceptable anions. The invention likewise relates to a dyeing composition comprising at least one dye and such a cationic hydrotrope and to colouring processes employing this dyeing composition.
