An electrically driven press tool that is compact, reliable and cost-effective. There is a press tool in which a crimping tool is retained in a recess by a bolt. An electromotor drives a spindle, which interacts with the crimping tool, by a reducing gear. The spindle is connected to a shaft by a pressure flange. The bearing pressure, which acts on the spindle, is brought to bear on a pressure ring by a pressure flange and a pressure bearing, the ring acting directly or indirectly on a force or pressure sensor. When a predetermine set value of the crimping is reached, the sensor forwards a switching signal to the controller of the drive motor.
A pressing tool (13) includes a fluid pump (4), a cylinder element (5) arranged connecting with this and a piston which can be slid forward in the cylinder element (5) by pressure fluid of the fluid pump (4) and reset by a return spring (20a). A piston rod (6) is passed out to the cylinder element (5) as an activation part. The pressing tool (13) is moreover outfitted with a position measuring device (12, 12a; 112, 212, 212a) which measures without contact which makes the piston position continuously detectable over a positioning range free of disturbance and with a presence sensor (52). The presence sensor (52) verifies the presence of a jointing clamp (51) and issues an indicator signal in the event that a jointing clamp (51) is missing or improperly fastened and shuts the pressing tool (13) off following a delay period to the extent that no orderly inserted jointing clamp (51) is yet available. The pressing tool (13) can also characterize the quality of the extrusion on the basis of the comparison of a detected maximal piston end position with a specified piston position range value.
An electrohydraulic pressing device is suitable for one-handed operation. The device includes a housing having a working head attached thereto, an electric motor provided within the housing for actuating the working head, the electric motor being rearward of the working head, an actuating switch for actuating the working head, a rearward switch provided within the housing rearward of the motor; and a lever extending from the actuating switch to the rearward switch. The lever is within the housing and the housing around the lever forms a gripping region. When the actuating switch is actuated, the lever is moved to actuate the rearward switch.
A hand-held, battery-powered, hydraulically-actuated tool including a frame forming a tool longitudinal axis; a battery offset from the tool longitudinal axis; and located along the tool longitudinal axis a motor connected to the battery; a hydraulic fluid pump connected to the motor, such as by a transmission; a ram movably connected to the frame and adapted to be moved relative to the frame by hydraulic fluid pumped by the hydraulic fluid pump; and a working head adapted to be actuated by the ram. The tool includes a main section situated in an in-line configuration along the tool longitudinal axis. A center longitudinal axis of the battery is offset from the tool longitudinal axis.
