A coupling structure for an air guide of a front end module includes a plurality of rib members formed at a lateral portion of the front end module, at least one support ribs protruding from a fixing surface of the air guide, and a plurality of insert blades extending at a right angle at one end of the respective support ribs. Each of the rib members is formed about an associated guidance recess, and includes a pair of lateral ribs protruding from opposite lateral sides of the guidance recess, and a pair of front ribs extending from distal ends of the lateral ribs toward each other. The support ribs are configured to be inserted along the guidance recesses of the rib members, respectively, and in such an inserted state of the support ribs, the insert blades connected thereto come into contact with inner surfaces of the front ribs of the rib members.
A heat shield plate attaching portion on a vehicle body has an engaging hole. On an elastic heat shield plate, an engaging projection is formed to elastically engage with the engaging hole. The engaging projection has, from its base side to its tip side, a small diameter axis portion with substantially the same outside diameter as an inside diameter of the hole, a shrinking large diameter engaging portion with a larger diameter than the inside diameter, a pinch portion for pulling with a smaller diameter than the inside diameter, and a hollow portion formed at the axial center of the small diameter axis portion, the hollow portion communicating with the outside atmosphere. The plate is attached to the attaching portion in such a manner that the large diameter engaging portion engages with the opening edge of the hole.
A carrier for improving the strength of the front end of a vehicle, the carrier having an upper cross member which incorporates a closed box section, a composite integration panel connected to the upper cross member, and a lower cross member which also has a closed box section and is also connected to the composite integration panel. The closed box section of the upper cross member, and the closed box section of the lower cross member allow the component integration panel to be attached to the front end of a motor vehicle for supporting various vehicle components. The carrier improves strength and rigidity, as well as provides support for any particular vehicle component which needs to be attached to the front end.
