A skin wash composition intended for topical application to water-wetted skin comprising an .alpha.-hydroxy acid active ingredient formulated in a mild and non-irritant detergent base consisting of a mixture of a non-ionic alkypolyglucoside surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant.

No. 6,162,774, granted Dec. 19, 2000, which is a 371 filing of PCT/EP97/02984, filed Jun. 5, 1997.
