A tie-down assembly may include a lever-type load binding mechanism and may be used to couple a truck to a truck camper. The tie-down assembly may include a cushioning member used to cushion a tension load applied between a first end and a second end of the tie-down assembly. The tie-down assembly may also include a removable handle that is used to operate the lever-type load binding mechanism.
A fastening device for establishing a self-adjusting fastening connection between at least two elements. The fastening device includes a frame having at least one opening and a connection to one of the at least two elements. It includes a rod with corrugations, the rod being movable through the at least one opening and it includes a connection to one of the at least two elements and a holding device including at least two locking elements, each locking element including at least one surface including dents/grooves corresponding to the corrugations. The frame or the holding device includes an at least partly tapered shape, and an elastic mechanism forcing the holding device against the frame and thereby the locking elements against each other. A method of establishing a fastening connection between at least two elements with a fastening device is also included.
A fastener for securing a cargo container includes a hollow connector, a first pull rod, a second pull rod and an elastic element. The hollow connector includes first and second members provided with first and second bores, respectively, and a receiving cavity between the first and second end members. The first pull rod extends through the first bore into the cavity, while the second pull rod extends through the second bore into the cavity and has a retaining head attached thereto. The elastic element is disposed around the second pull rod between the second end member and the retaining head for biasing the retaining head to move away from the second end member. The receiving cavity is open to expose the elastic element and the retaining head. The fastener may further include a limiting unit to prevent distorted movement of, and a pressure-equalizing member to evenly distribute pressure on, the elastic element.
A stress-indicating rope-tightening apparatus includes a rope-tightening unit and a stress-indicating unit. The rope-tightening unit includes a rotational joint. The stress-indicating unit includes two strain gauges disposed on two opposite sides of the rotational joint for measuring the strain in the rotational joint, a calculator for calculating the stress in the rope based on the strain in the rotational joint and a display for showing the stress in the rope.
