An improved drywall corner sander is provided with an elongated body having opposite sides, and a pair of spaced apart braces extending between the sides. An axle is pivotally mounted between the braces so as to define a first longitudinal pivot axis. A tab on the axle defines a second, perpendicular pivot axis. A handle is connected to the tab of the axle so as to be pivotal about the first and second axes for easy operation of the sander without forming grooves in the side wall adjacent the outer edges of the sander. The pivot axes both reside within the cavity defined by the side walls of the sander.
A hand sander for attaching sandpaper thereto, the hand sander including a base having clamp ends; a handle for holding the sander in the hand; a clamping mechanism for clamping a sheet of sandpaper to each clamp end of the base wherein the clamping mechanism including a clamp pivoting between a clamp locked position and a clamp unlocked position and a planar generally upstanding tab resiliently biased against the clamp for locking the clamp in the clamp locked position. The tab including a shoulder for cooperatively engaging with a portion of the clamp thereby locking the clamp into the clamp locked position.
A dry wall angle sander for simultaneously sanding both sides of an inside corner without grooving generally comprises a body including a pad of compressible, flexible, and resilient material mounted on a carrier and a handle for gripping by a user. The pad has outward facing dihedral sanding surfaces having an outer dihedral angle of two hundred seventy degrees. The sanding surfaces meet at a juncture defining the longitudinal direction. The length of each sanding surface diminishes proximate the maxim width so that sanding is less aggressive there. Preferably, also, the flexibility of each sanding surface increases proximate its maximum width so that the sanding is less aggressive there.
