The present invention relates to a liquid detergent composition including (a) an anionic surfactant containing a hydrocarbon group having 10 to 18 carbon atoms, (b) an amine oxide surfactant containing a hydrocarbon group having 10 to 18 carbon atoms, (c) 2-ethylhexyl monoglyceryl ether, a compound represented by the formula (5) or a compound represented by the formula (6) and (d) water in each specified ratio: R.sup.5a--(OR.sup.5b).sub.a5--OH (5) R.sup.6a--(OR.sup.6b).sub.a6G.sub.b6.
