An animal deterrent composition comprising a major proportion of a finely divided animal deterrent compound of aluminum together with a minor proportion of one or more of certain specified organic animal deterrent compounds. The invention also consists in a method of deterring animals using the composition of the invention.
A special solution or emulsion of sucrose octa-acetate is applied to surfaces which have been painted with lead base paint to effect bonding of the sucrose octa-acetate to the surface. The sucrose octa-acetate remains after the solvent evaporates to render the surface so bitter in taste that children will not eat a sufficient amount of any chipping lead base paint to be harmed thereby.
Storage stable composition effective as a biorational agent for protection against pests, e.g. Japanese beetles, is a diluted ethanol neem seed extract comprising from about 2,000 to about 4,000 ppm azadirachtin and having a pH ranging from about 3.5 to about 6.0.
Method for repelling insect herbivores from plant surfaces and deterring them from feeding on plant surfaces by applying an aqueous dispersion of polycyclic quinone or precursor thereof to the foliage of the plant and/or to the surrounding soil in which the plant is rooted.
A method for deterring birds from perching, roosting or loafing on plant and structural surfaces by applying to the surfaces a non-toxic composition. The non-toxic composition is one that triggers a physiological aversion mechanism in birds by a visual cue and a post-ingestinal response.
A process of denaturing a lead painted surface by coating such surface with a paint containing from 0.001% to 0.5% by weight benzyldiethyl (2,6-xylylcarbamoyl methyl) ammonium benzoate and from 0.01 % to 2.0 % by weight of pepper extract.
