An improved fluid treating filter having a support frame disposed between at least two layers of filter media. The support frame is of unitary construction and bowed in a direction opposing the flow of a fluid. One layer of media is in communicative relation with the surface of the frame facing the flow of the fluid whereas the second layer is in communicative relation with the edges of the downstream surface of the frame and is in spaced relationship with the downstream surface. The filter may include a cover adaptable for outerfitting the filter wherein the cover has perforations for allowing the passage of the fluid therethrough.
A dual filter system for heaters and airconditioners comprising releaseably securable throwaway secondary filter secured to a disposeable or permanent primary filter.
A method for continuously producing air filters made from synthetic materials is described, wherein an essentially continuous length of filter material is passed through a series of ultrasonic welding means to form a pocket into which a frame can be inserted. The pocket is then ultrasonically welded closed. Individual filters are then cut from the length of filter material. The process may also be used to create synthetic bag filters.
The invention provides a disposable carbon filter comprising at least one six-sided paperboard carton including a pair of opposed parallel panels having cutaway sections, defining opposed flow-through apertures therein, for the ingress of dirty air to be treated and the egress of clean air after treatment; and, a fluid pervious scrim material disposed within the paperboard carton across the flow-through apertures to compressively contain activated carbon particles.
The capacity and efficiency of a filter element having pleated filter media is increased by utilizing a baffle across the upstream front area of the filter media. The baffle is preferably a web of material that is adhered to the peaks of the filter media. Preferably, the baffle is laterally offset and has a width which is in the range of 20-75% of the width of the filter media. Utilizing the baffle does not increase restriction to an unacceptable range.
An improved outdoor aquatic pond having a installation template, a pond liner, a plenum unit chamber, a pump, a canister filter, and at least one artificial rock for connection with the rim of said pond. This invention provides for increased ease of installation as well as increased ease of maintenance.
