Abstract
In a system for modular constructions, it is necessary to have a minimum variety of basic components, to provide ease of erection without the aid of particular tools, to allow maximum flexibility to suit any spatial environment and to offer resistance to weight, pressure or impact. In this invention, there are two basic components comprising a basic cubical unit adapted to receive a basic connector item designed for longitudinal insertion along any of its edges, into mating grooves on the cubical unit, thus providing a system which can be manually assembled in a multitude of relatively strong arrangements in all directions and which is greatly resistant to the effects of weight, pressure or impact.

4192562 - Interfitting and removable modular, frame, storage units

A set of four longitudinal, four vertical and four cross bars are secured together to form a three dimensional open frame of a storage unit capable of being closed to a box-like structure by a plurality of flat panels. The longitudinal bars each have a longitudinal T-shaped rib and a T-shaped, longitudinal recess, capable of slideably receiving the rib of an adjacent frame so that a plurality of frames may be arranged and stacked to form a self sustaining structure from which one or more frames or storage units may be slideably removed without disturbance to the remaining structure and units.

5421645 - Modular compartments for utility vehicle

Cabinets are formed with a first chamber defined by end joined lengths of a first extrusion, a first chamber outer end closure and a first chamber inner end closure, which may include a second chamber defined by end joined lengths of a second extrusion edge interfitted with lengths of the first extrusion. Two or more cabinets may be combined to form a module. In a preferred construction adapted for use in fabricating a utility vehicle, such as a fire truck, a module includes two or more cabinets removably joined to a common walkway arranged to bridge across the cabinets.

5531517 - Interlocking front-load bulk storage containers

A front-loading interlocking modular merchandising display has a bin having front, rear and side surfaces, the front surface having an opening therein, the side and rear surfaces having at least one vertical groove on each of the surfaces, and a rail for sliding engagement within the at least one vertical groove, the rail having, in cross-section, opposed ends wider than a middle section of the cross-section, wherein each of the at least one vertical groove has a front aperture and a recessed cavity behind the aperture, the recessed cavity wider in cross-section than the front aperture, the rail for interlocking mating engagement of two of the bins when the bins are adjacent.

5100216 - Modular furniture

There is described an improved system for the assembly of furniture and like items, comprising flat surface panels having a plurality of peripheral edges thereabout, longitudinally extending grooves formed in one or more of the peripheral edges, edge members for covering selected ones of the peripheral edges and connectors corresponding in cross-sectional shape with the grooves for slidable engagement therewith. The connectors each have a base and a groove engaging portion, wherein each connector is connectable along its base to a respective one of the surface panels or edge members. A surface panel or edge member may be assembled to another surface panel by means of a slidable connection between the groove engaging portion of the connectors thereon and the groove in an abutting edge of the other surface panel.

4526427 - Apparatus for fastening instruments in a front panel or switchboard

For the purpose of fastening instruments in an opening in a front panel or switchboard, connectors are provided which have tongue parts which are inserted from the rear into corresponding grooves along the side edges of the casing of each instrument. A cover plate projecting laterally beyond the casing abuts from the outside against the edge of the opening and the connectors press from the interior against the front panel or switchboard and pull the casing backwardly. The locking between the tongue parts and the grooves is effected by anchoring parts, preferably rows of teeth which are adapted to snap resiliently into one another and which act in the longitudinal direction.
